So awhile ago I was petting my cat and came across a weird can in between his shoulder blades, I thought nothing of it but noticed while it was seemingly healing and getting smaller it never went away. I searched him for other scabs and found some along his spine by his tail.

Now they have been appearing around his ears, and im worried. His uncle died of Cancer and im afraid he might too.

The bumps feel scabbed over and look similar to mite bites.

He still eats, he plays, he acts a little too much like his mom for my taste lol, but im still worried.

I'd love to take him to the vet but that's not possible right now due to money and the vet requires pay upfront.  If anyone can help me please post below. I'm hoping it's  nothing but if it looks bad i'll collect pop cans for cash to make sure he's okay.

Could they be flea bites? When you 'part' his hair do you see fleas?

Also, is he losing fur anywhere? - in other words, any bald spots? This probably isn't the case with your cat, but I had a cat with FIP and among his first symptoms were bald spots and crusty scabs - turned out to be scabies as a result of his non-functioning immune system.

They look like flea scabs. You will need to get rid of the fleas if you want the scabs to go away.  You will need to treat both the cat and your home. Make sure to wash his bed. Give your cat a good bath with flea/tick shampoo. You will want to use a conditioner afterwards. After he is dry, put on a spot-on monthly flea/tick medication. It will take time for the scabs to go away. Make sure to vacuum your home regularly.

Dusting your cat/home with diatomaceous earth can help too.

If you use this, be very careful not to breathe it in, or let your cat breathe it in.  It's very fine and dusty and can cause harm if it gets into your lungs.
