My cats seriously sometimes meow to be fed again immediately after  I have fed them. It sometimes makes me feel like I may be losing my mind... like, surely I did just feed you? There are the empty cans...

What a gorgeous boy! My Jasper is positively pathetic when it  comes to begging for food. He sits on the kitchen bench and goes all affectionate, meows, and puts on his sad face with his ears turned back. I tell him to call the RSCPA and report me for animal cruelty because he hasn't eaten in three hours

Every time I go into the kitchen, I have an audience. Sheba has such a cute meow and is the most vocal. I will feed them, go out of the room, come back in and Sheba tells me she hasn't eaten in a week.

GOsh I know right. He's always right there on my bed when I'm lazy and eating something on my desk instead of in the dining area. And sometimes it's stuff he has no use for, like salad or breadsticks. He'll sit there for a long time. And when he figures he's not getting any, he walks away very slowly, head down, you can almost FEEL the dejection just emanating from him.

Manipulative brats. lol

I think they have to be obvious about it so we'll get the point. After all, humans are so used to communicating in words. A cat has only body language.

I can only imagine that this is their version of speaking slowly and clearly so that the dense human can understand that they would like a lick of that salad dressing, please, if it's not too inconvenient?

Aw! What a beautiful cat! My cats are similar when it comes to feeding, but in two different ways. Mittens, who was rescued from a house exceeding 20 other cats, and 7 dogs, meows so loud at the thought of food, runs round my feet, and she'll eat most things she gets her paws on, as if she is starving (the vet said it will take her years to get over fighting for food). Fluffy, on the other hand, turns his nose up at almost everything, unless he hears the cat biscuit box, then he runs and demands his feed ( even though he already has biscuits in his bowl). The one thing that gets them both going is a biscuit treat called dreamies, I only have to point at the packet and Mittens starts meowing, which gets Fluffy running to the source, then they climb on me and beg for their favourite treats :)

Spice was begging the other day when I was eating a Mellowcreme pumpkin (leftover Halloween candy), so I let her smell it and when she tried to lick it, I gave her a small bite. She loved it and begged another small piece from me.
