So i posted a few days ago about bathing my foster kittens. Now i have a few new questions. #1 how can i tell if my kitten is sick? #2 are most 4 week old kittens suppose to sleep a lot still and does it mean anything if they mew a lot?? my little guy meows a lot now idk if he is trying to tell me he is sick or something. He likes to climb a lot and hes been eating well. Im just nervous he might be sick. Is there anyway to tell? (Oh sorry about the typo in the title i am on my phone so it was hard to see.) Thanks again you guys!

If he climbs a lot it shouldtn be anything serious.  But if he is NOT climbing, just mostly still...

Many kittens dont really cant meow, they sometimes do learn it as halfgrown.    You do have a kitten who already can meow...

good you are observant.  If you arent, who will be??

Good luck!

Thank you very much for the reply. I took him to the emergency animal hospital. He got some anti biotics the vet thought he had cat distemper(parvo) whatever name it goes by. So im giving him 5ccs 2 times a day now and uping his food intake to 40ml. He was very dehydrated which is scary since i was giving him 4ml of pedilyte every 3 hours. So he also got an injection. =) he seems a lot better now back to his climbing loud meowing self. Happy mama here.

Pedialyte, bought or home made, is a good idea.  But 4ml  every 3 hours, for someone who is in danger of being  dehydrated, is too little...  So proceed, but more often.  Keep him also nicely warm,  wiht a heat pad for example.

Good you were watchful and took him to the vet.

Distemper is a serious disease,  now he has a chance.

It is also quite contagious to other cats,  so beware.

Good luck!   *vibes!*
