My cats name is Rico Suave', He is a 3 year old fixed male.
As of 3 days ago, he has become lethargic and won't eat. I took him to the
emergency vet yesterday and he ran a ton of tests. Nothing could identify
what's wrong with my baby. Motor skills, tummy exam, blood work, even xrays.
showed nothing. He did urinate in the car on the way there, so that eliminated
a urinary block. We were sent home with watery canned food to force
feed him over the next couple of days . His eyes looked glazed over and still doesn't look any better. If anyone has seen this before ,please help. I can't stop crying.

Try another vet? Until then, absolutely make sure that he eats, pees, and poops.

I'm so sorry and I hope you get to the bottom of this soon.

I would definitely take him to another vet.  Emergency vets are very good at what they do but for diagnostics I think a regular vet is often better.  I have had better luck with cat's only vets, that's no guarantee but I have had better luck with them.  You do need to do the syringe feeding, not eating for cats can create a serious problem with the liver.

It's really good that you took him for care as soon as you did.

This was a regular vet, he was just "on call" for emergencies since I couldn't wait until Monday to have him seen . The offices weren't even open so I had to act as his assistant while he shaved for blood samples and extra set of hands for x rays. My poor baby just seems to be fading away, and no one knows why. I even have him now on a electric blanket on low...

Is it possible Rico got into some poison?  His symptoms sound like it.

I would also call another vet.  Did the first vet have all the results of the blood work?  You will need it to tell the other vet what tests have already been done.

yes,my friend had the same problem; she was going to the vet near us, which she'd always gone to, but they could not get her poor very old cat well, from the bronchitis and cold she had. She did this: she asked all her friends around everywhere "what is the best vet to go to?" They told her a very experienced good that out of town, and she took her cat there; and sure enough, he was better at diagnosing and fixing the problem.

ASK YOUR FRIENDS, WHO IS THE BEST  VET, AND TRY TO SEE HIM.. it worked.

It could be a virus of some sort. He could have ingested something (string, rubber band, a hairball). Something that would not show on X rays.  Is he pooping normally?  If not I would ask the vet about starting him on a laxative.

Thank you for getting your cat neutered!

Keep an eye on his behavior. It would be best if you kept a daily journal on him. Also, I recommend getting a second opinion at a different vet. You will want to have them run more blood work. Until then, watch him closely. Take his heart rate and record it daily in the journal. Sometimes mixing just a bit of margarine in with your cat's food can get them to eat. Does he have any cuts or did he have any cuts on his body recently? Does he have any growths on the skin? Are there any other symptoms you might have forgot to mention?

How much are you able to get him to eat? He could have stopped eating for some reason that cleared up (or in protest) and now his tummy is too upset from not eating. That would make him weak and lethargic also.

Looks like we've seen a miracle! Yesterday we had a small improvement. He actually got up to use his potty, not much there but he
hasn't taken in much either. :-) Then he decided to drink from a cup of water on his own... He couldn't seen to get enough.
much cheers for that. Now today, I woke up to him bathing in my arms! He actually started purring for me. Then when I offered him
His regular food ( not the ucky stuff ) he ate on his own! YAY! Looks like we're finally on our way to recovery.
After watching him closer, it actually seemed like it might be hurting him to swallow. But now he's over the worst of it. Thank you ALL
so much for the advise, We were gonna search out another vet today, but I don't think we're going to need to now. :-D. I still have my radar on him just in case though!
