I stared at my screen, looking at this section in the forums for a few days with my heart racing and tears filling my eyes. I believe that if I post about Ella, it'll make me feel better because a lot of you have already gone or currently going through what I'm going through right now.

It's been such a long, scary week.

Our Ella had grown sick from something that we had no knowledge of. We immediately took her into the vet to get her check out.

She was vomiting and wouldn't eat anything (red flag)

The Dr. felt on her tummy and Ella meowed.

We did a few x-rays and it showed that little miss Ella was constipated. We felt a sign of relief that it wasn't anything major. The Dr. sent us home and said wait it out.. I grew anxious on day 3 because she still wasn't eating or drinking.

A few more days had passed and I said were going to a different vet and getting an enema done. We took her home in hopes that by the morning she'd be back to her usual self.. We get a phone call by vet #1 saying that they got the x-rays back from the lab and it showed that Ella had a foreign body. Vet #1 said to bring her in the AM to do another x-ray so we did. I called vet #2 and told them what was going on because I was very frantic. (vet #1 was very money hungry, i've been charged hundreds of dollars with no improvement in ella)

Vet #2 called and said they did an x-ray as well and seen the foreign body (we had no idea because we wasn't billed and The dr. never said anything about it) I immediately broke into tears right after we got pulled over (yeah, we got a ticket too...great right?)

at this point my husband and I were thinking of putting Ella down. (theres plenty more of my horrific week but it's just too exhausting to put it in writing)

The surgery cost $1,000.00, something we could not afford & it wasn't promising that she'd make it.

$700.00 & a week later we put ella to rest on 11-19-13 :(

I miss my little girl so much!

She was only 2 years old human years

I know Thecatsite has amazing support, so this is why i'm posting here because I need some support while getting through this

Here are a few pictures of her (the 3rd picture was her, really really sick)

Again I am so sorry for your loss. I followed your other thread and broke down in tears hearing about Ella. I am an emotional wreck anyway but here I am crying again reading this. She was so young and very beautiful. She was very lucky to have been loved by you and your husband. My thoughts and prayers go out to you both.

I also forgot to mention that we'll be picking up her remains on Friday. We chose to get her cremated.

Sorry I'm making you cry =[

Today the vet made me cry. I checked my mail box and they've sent me a sympathy card with Ella's paw print stamped on it & they signed it "love Ella" gosh i was crying like a big baby! =]

I'm so, so sorry you have to go through all this, it seems to have no end at the beginning. You did all you could for your beautiful little girl and you helped to put an end to her suffering. I wish I could hug you and we could cry together. I cried when I saw your Ella, she looked a lot like a sister to my precious Chrissy who I lost last December. It leaves such a terrible wound to your heart and it takes such a long time to heal, forever leaving a scar. You'll go through the stages of grief to heal, some more then once. Just know we're here to help in any way we can, even if it's just to be there and know how you feel. Take care of yourself, your little girl would never want you to be so sad..... she wants you to have memories of happiness and love. RIP beautiful Ella!

Thank you for your kind words.
It's definitely a grieving process. This morning I couldn't sleep. I was up at 3am till about 8am. Looking at and organizing her photos on my computer. It was horrible. A lot of it had to do with me picking her up today.... well i was supposed to but she hasn't come back yet from cremation. I am also sorry for your loss as well. Our baby's are up in heaven playing with each other now

I am so so sorry for you and your pretty little Ella. That hurts your heart so much, writing to her or to us really helps I have found anyway. Maybe someday you might consider adopting a new needy cat from a shelter. I work at a shelter and though we may not feel ready to have another cat, the shelter is filled with cats that need us now and hoping someone will take them home and love them. Not as a replacement but as a new life to love.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I haven't read your thread, but I know the pain you're going through. I lost two in 6 months time last year. It's so hard and hurts so bad. May the memories of your precious Ella help with your grief. R.I.P. Ella.

I always think about cats lol. I love them! they'll always have a soft spot in my heart.
We talked about it and agreed that we'll let it rest. We don't want to have another cat... which I'm lying by the way
I love kitty's We've always had cat's in our life... Our entire relationship we've always had a cat. But Ella has hit us the hardest since she was the only one we got to actually keep & care for.. All the other's (please forgive me for saying this) really didn't matter to us..They'd run away, which yeah we felt bummed about & get over it. & then other ones, we would have to give away cause we couldn't have them..

Since we've found a home that let us keep her was great. We did everything for her, she got all the toys and treats and tasty foods with us. <3 She even had a few friends that came over to visit. One cat was a friends and the other cat would hop on our porch and they'd play with each other between the sliding glass door.

But as to us getting another cat....I just think right now...no..... In a few months....no....maybe sometime next year....possibly.

I woke up this morning with one specific memory. She always did this on Saturday mornings only... The Mr. & I would be in the bed sleeping. I'd get up and just lay in bed on my phone checking emails and what not.. Being as quiet as I can be..For some reason Ella ALWAYS knew I was awake (maybe it was her instincts) and she'd sit in front of the door (our door stayed closed when we slept cause if it didn't she'd play with our toys and hair and all that fun stuff) and meow and scratch as to say "I know you're up mom, open the door & walk out so I can rub all over your legs" ... She was just the sweetest <3

So young yet.. I am so sorry you lost your Ella.  I lost mine when she was 18 but  it was not long enough to have her in my life . I adopted her at 6 yrs old so having your cat only to 2 years old  i know you were grieving badly .  Your baby is safe and  in good health playing with others now Over the Rainbow Bridge.

We always talked about Ella in our future life. We talked about her having a long life. We thought we would have put her down when she was maybe 20 or so you know?  It's weird. She was just a baby. But I am happy to say that she lived a wonderful life here with us. She was completely spoiled....maybe a little bit too spoiled.

Your baby has lived a long life
<3 & I understand what you are saying. RIP to your baby

Yes Sophie  lived to 18 . I had her  from the age of 6 or 7. I was blessed to have her that long but i am selfish. I wanted to always have her in my life.   My love for her will always  be in my heart and she is alive in my heart always. It is hard to not see them and hold them though. We who have lost pets know this. She had such routines she always did and so cute too. I still walk in the house expecting to see her.  One day i will see her again. I like to think she is with my parents, sister and three brothers in Heaven being well taken care of.

My husband had said the same thing. He said that Ella is in heaven with his mom and dad with their dog :) at least our babies have lots of love up their!. & I totally understand what you mean when you keep expecting to see her. I'm the same way when we walk into our house, she always used to greet us by the door. Our apartment feels so lonely and cold...Its not a good feeling. Everyone who has come over to our apartment has said that it feels weird in here without her & then they offer to buy us a new cat... I instantly said no though.

My friends come over and  expect to see Sophie too. I have a huge picture i had  made at  a store of her over my computer area. I see her every day but i can't touch her.It is wonderful l to see her  face though. ;-)

I was told to just go get another cat but i couldn't. It took 7 months then i saw Roxy ( i did not plan on getting  a cat yet ) and my heart  knew she was the one just like i did with Sophie. I cannot look at her as Sophie. She is a new kitty and  will have her own personality. I am  enjoying a kitten too since  Sophie was an adult when i got her. You will one day look a a cat or kitten and your heart will say, he/she is mine.
