My recently adopted baby girl (she's 3) has been having some poopy issues lately...little turds left behind on the carpet, which I can deal with (I usually find them pretty fast before any damage is done) but now she is coming out of her litterbox with bits of poop stuck to her bum hairs (she's a long hair) and on her hind feet! This is new...tonight it was even a bit, shall I say moist? As to say not really runny but not entirely firm like usual. Her usual is normal, firm, no blood. when she's done she does like to chatter like crazy and run around like mad, like she is so happy to be done! It's cute...but I wonder if something is wrong. I haven't had cats in about 10 years and I don't remember this ever happening with my other 3. Any ideas or advice for me.
Also one other thing, she's been spitting up suddenly...no chunks, no hair balls, just a brownish liquid like bile...and nothing I use removes it (so far anyway). So one, I'm worried...any help/advice here? And two, any tips on what is the BEST cleaner for puke/bile stains?? Thanks my fellow cat lovers!! I need advice!! :high5:

I would think a Vet visit is in order. Throwing up bile is not normal, and that, coupled with the soft stool, is cause for a check-up, IMHO.

It could all be food related, but perhaps not.  What are you feeding her, and how often.  And has she been this way since you adopted her, or did it start with anything you have done (like a change in diet)?  Just trying to pinpoint any particular thing that could be causing it.  This information will be helpful for your Vet visit too.

Hi there, thanks for your advice! No change in diet at all but I did change the litter out completely yesterday and it seems to have made her very happy. I wonder if it was too stinky in there and she just wasn't finishing her poos fast enough before bolting out? That could be the reason for the poo stuck to her still? I don't know, but I agree...a visit to the vet is in order! As for the spitting up...I'm used to that from my cats from years ago, they often puked/spit up like that and very often no chunks or hair balls...but I kinda had forgotten. I can't really say it is bile, it's brownish...it just reminded me of what it's like for us humans when we have nothing left in us to barf up except bile....that's kinda why I said that. Still tho, a vet visit is in order! Thank you thank you!!:wavey:

Well, a clear froth spit up might indicate that it's just been too long between meals and too much acid has built up on her tummy, but it's the throwing up of bile that is what is a bit  worrisome.  Even throwing up a hairball is not normal, even though most cat owners expect that to happen.  Hairballs should actually pass thru their digestive tracts and exit in their stools if everything is working properly.  Interesting, huh?

Glad you seem to have figured out the poop issue.
(although I would mentioned that to the Vet also, just in case)
