Hello all-

My boyfriend and I just moved our cats into our new apartment in Saturday, and although they have explored and adjusted to the physical environment, they both refuse to eat. My boy won't eat anything but his dry food; he usually eats his wet food twice a day with little to no issue. My girl is on a raw diet and barely touches her food; she does not consume dry food. I am extremely stressed and concerned about the welfare of my animals and don't know what to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Nicole

The move probably just stressed them out a little. Hopefully, things will go back to normal soon, but you are right that they must start eating soon. You can try to tempt them to eat again with some yummy treats like meat baby food (meat plus broth only, no spices) or freeze-dried meats and organs (Whole Life, PureBites are common brands).

Try putting their food in a small, hidden place where they will feel completely secure. My kitten didn't want to eat after I traumatized him with medicine, lol. And finally I just put his dish under the bed where he likes to hide and where he knows I can't get to him and he scarfed down right away! I fed him under there for a couple days and then he was back to his old self running to the kitchen crying for food in the usual spot.
