I posted yesterday about my new addition here.

As far as her acclimating, she now lets us pet her, she rubs up against us, and she purrs for us a little. So, things are definitely working!

HOWEVER, I noticed this morning she had an accident outside the litterbox. I did mention in the earlier post above about the shelter telling me of her tummy troubles, and I noticed loose stools in the box. But now she missed a bit. It doesn't look like she went anywhere else, and it seems like she maybe didn't make it or thought she was done, and missed (6/8 inches away).

I'm going to try Bene Bac and pumpkin for now. I'm thinking long-term, though, and how I should proceed in the next few weeks with her pending spay.

Details:

She has a spay appointment Thursday morning. So she will fast overnight, likely, Wednesday. I'd really like to get that spay done asap, but should I mention this to the vet?

The vet that is spaying her isn't my normal vet. So, I may mention it to them and ask them their thoughts, but it's likely they won't do anything for her then--I'd have to make another appointment, so I'd rather just go with my vet.

I guess I don't know what to do. Should I go ahead and call my vet? My vet is backed up with surgeries right now, so that's why I went with a family member's vet (she also sees my exotics, but not my cats) for the spay--to get her in as soon as possible. But I could try to get an appointment for her tummy troubles with MY vet...but when? I'm nervous about taking her to all these appointments so soon, when she's making great progress with us. BUT I do want her tummy to feel better.

So. Try Bene Bac and pumpkin until her spay...have her spayed...then see how it goes? I may try to shift her (and the others as well, why not) to Blue Sensitive Tummy (I have her on just regular Blue now). But if it continues over the weekend after her spay, THEN call my vet and proceed?

I'm a planner. I just need a timeline, and I'll shoot for it.

I would also add a second litter box for her.  What are you feeding her?  It could be the food is too rich for her system.  Definitely mention the diarrhea to the vet when you take her for the spay.
