Hi Guys,

Today I was helping remove some sage plants from my parents garden ( I think its Russian sage?? ) anyways it has my allergies just going nuts. I washed my hands pretty good and threw my clothes in the washing machine when I got home but it has me wondering is sage dangerous to cats? obviously I didn't bring any home but didn't know if the smell on my shoes from it could affect the cat?

Im assuming not ( unless she is allergic to it like I am ) that the only danger could be in if she was to eat it?

Thanks

Jeremy

The danger is indeed when plants are eaten. Sage in a small amounts (if eaten) generally would not hurt a cat, it is in excessive amounts where you may start to see the cat having some tummy distress or discomfort, and if unusually vast amts are eaten, could have some central nervous effects.

Thanks for the help, yeah I figured that the danger if any ( I guess cats shouldnt eat any garden plant though ) would be if she had eaten any. I always make sure when I come home from doing any gardening that I dont track in any plants or grasses.
