My 5 month old kitty ; Boopsi got spayed on thursday. She was fine when i first brought her home jst groggy and very grouchy. She hates the plastic cone they gave her and went crazy when puttin it on. I bought her a more flexibale one which she is now used to. My question is if her incision looks normal. There isnt any blood around it and it doesnt seem swollen. Its jst a little wet around it. Im not sure if thats abnormal leakage or maybe the glue or urine im really not sure. Please take a look and tell me if it looks normal :( im worried.

if you zoom in you can see the wet area please help

Please ring your vets and see what they have to say, or take her in.

I don't recall every seeing any discharge like that 2 days post-op. Did they put an ointment on the incision? It would be worth a trip to the vet to be sure everything is ok.

I actually called a 24 hr animal hospital and they advised me to try and clean the area softly with a rag and warm water to see if the incision was leaking. i did that and nothing else came out. it was probably urine since she cant clean herself properly. thanks for the answers guys :) i still feel bad for puttin my baby through all tht pain.

Please don't feel bad.  Getting spayed is the greatest gift you can give her.  She doesn't have to run the risks of delivering kittens, she can't get pyometra and her risk of breast cancer has gone down massively.

Good, I'm glad everything is ok. After I posted, I realized that I had never used a cone, so if there ever had been any leakage, the cat would have taken care of it herself. It's always heart-wrenching seeing them in any kind of pain, but it's over quickly and one of the amazing things about animals is how quickly they recuperate and forget.

I am sure she'll be fine, but am glad you called.....never hurts to be on the safe side. I know she was in pain from her spay, but it's the best thing you can do for her. Thank you for being a good kitty mom!
She'll be racing around the house again in no time.

Oh, and don't panic if she doesn't eat well for a couple of days. Happened to our girls, too. They didn't eat right for several days following their spay. They hated the collar, so I would take it off for them to eat their meals and to give themselves a good wash. Then I kept a close eye on them while they bathed and then I put the collar back on. They always looked so sad with the collar, but it's only for a couple of weeks.

She'll be fine!
