I've talked to people and some said they didn't use cone some said I have to, I dread this I know she will be a real pain ...Help

All I can offer is what I did with my 2 females that were spayed. Neither wore cones. Baby was also about 4 months when she was done and my female foster momma was about 1 yr old. Both had dissolving sutures though, and neither bothered with their incisions. I guess you could try not using the cone and see how she does, and if it looks like she is pulling at her sutures then use the cone or a onesy at jcat suggested.

I've had 3 cats spayed or neutered in the past 8 years and none have ever worn a cone.  Just keep an eye on the incision and if she starts licking it or won't leave it alone, then you can put a cone on her or use the top of a tube sock.  The trip to the vet and the surgery will be enough of a stress.  Be sure she's healthy (not having a flare up) before having the surgery done.

It doesn't have to be long enough for leg holes, just long enough to cover her belly/back with head and forepaws out the front, hind legs out the back.

Sorry, was at work all day.  Just cut the foot part off the sock.  Wiggle the top (the stretchy part) over the kitty so it's like a band around the middle and covers the incision site.  The stretchy material will keep it from moving and will keep the kitty from getting to the incision.

It depends how tolerant your cat is about getting dressed :tongue2:.

I've had a LOT of cats spayed and I have never used a cone for any of them. I had only one kitten pull at her stitches, and I put a tube sock on her. I would give her a chance, see if she bothers the stitches at all (I allow normal grooming of the area but no biting/pulling), and only use the sock if necessary.

Lilly had her spay at 12-weeks and she only needed the cone for 5 days. Just make sure your cat gets plenty of rest. The vet told me to use a cone with Lilly and I sure didn’t want to risk her pulling out her stitches! During her recovery period, I would keep her away from other cats, as some cats will actually pull the stitches out from another cat!
