.. We've been getting some doozies, and very early in the year.

Here's a picture someone posted on our local news, showing the hail that hit about 50kms north of me.  One person was hospitalised from being hit.

Yikes! That's when it's good to have a garage. l can imagine the insurance claims from cars alone, let alone other property damage and personal injury.

They looked bigger than golf ball sized  -  that's wild.

Here's what it did to someone's car.  And the hail itself:

Oh boy, that's scary hail.  It looks like the stuff you see in video footage or tornadoes.

Okay, anyone ever see that movie The Day After Tomorrow? Well, I feel like it's happening.
There are places all over the world getting crazy storms and weird weather that they've never encountered before, or that they've become much worse.

my mom lives in Germany, about 60km north of Frankfurt. she said they're having a lot more really bad thunderstorms and a couple years ago the area was hit by mini-tornados which took the roofs of quite a few houses in town

I haven't seen the movie, but I agree with your sentiment.

We just had a huge storm come through... so much golf-ball sized hail (not as big as in the picture above) that it made it look like snow outside.  I've never seen that before here.

And Sydney just had what they're calling a 'mini-tornado' with eight people injured..

Those are some mighty big hailstones! Some of the biggest I've ever seen. And the damage. No, this is not normal.

I saw The Day After Tomorrow and I do think that we've wrecked our climate almost to the point of no return.

Us here in the Midwest got hit hard too. Illinois suffered the brunt. My place was luckier, merely uprooted signboards and light things flying around.

We're already starting to get those icky cold fronts coming from the Artic.  IMO it's waaaay to early in the season for that type of thing to be happening.
