We have a bad problem with various rodents in our yard and garage. Our neighbor takes her cat out on a leash. I don't want my yard torn up, but I don't want to accidentally poison her cat either. Anyone have any ideas on a way to get rid of rodents that won't hurt her kitty if she catches one?

I too had a problem with Charlie the Chipmunk and since Ritz's BFF is Charlie, I didn't want to do anything to cause Charlie harm.

The only remedy I found (online) was sprinkling bone meal around the edges of where they are digging.  Frankly, it didn't help.  And I kept on filling up the holes.

My friend who rescued Ritz four years ago and now rehabilitates squirrels was unsympathetic:  she said they are doing what comes naturally.

You might want to call a pest control company and see if they have any suggestions (hopefully, for free advice).

Haven't tried this with chipmunks but it works with voles and woodchucks / groundhogs. Find their holes. Dump the solids from a litter pan as far down the hole as you can get it. Repeat as necessary.

I don't know if they just don't like the smell or think the cat is coming down their burrow after them. frankly, I don't care. I just want them gone.

Oh, that's a good idea Catapault. I don't see too many holes now that I had to quit feeding Charlie (he was getting into my neighbor's walls). But come really cold weather, I'm going to put out bird seed and peanuts. The acorns are really tiny were I live, and the wild life need the food.
