I wanted to introduce our family of cats. I'm not only including the two cats that live with my fiance and I but also the two other cats that are living in my parents' house. I only recently moved out of my parents' house so those two cats are my cats, too!

I'll start with the two cats living with me. Charlotte is MY cat. She loves me to pieces and follows me everywhere. I got her in 2007 when she was just a kitten. I picked her up from these people sitting outside my dance studio trying to find homes for the litter of kittens their cat had just had. My parents weren't too thrilled that I had brought ANOTHER cat home, but they soon came to love her just as much as I do.

Eli is the first cat Brennan & I owned together. We got him September of 2011 when he was a year old. Even though he's three now he hasn't matured at all! LOL! He's sooo playful and energetic even though he's a huuuuuge cat. I swear he must have some Maine Coon in him somewhere because his bone structure is big. He's also a little pudgy, so he weighs about 18 pounds. He's very sweet and loving to everyone and we can't imagine our life without him in it.

Oreo is the oldest cat in my parents' house, being somewhere around the age of 13. We got him when he was hanging around my elementary school, playing with the daycare kids in the Spring of 2001. When my mom saw him, she just fell in love and knew he was a stray because of his weight. We took him home and he fattened up! In fact, he was very heavy for a few years before we got his weight down. Now he has some health problems and I don't know how much longer he'll be around, but he still loves to play and cuddle.

We got Precious in 2006 when she showed up in my dad's Astro Van's wheel well. She rode 5 minutes in the car to the church because we didn't know she was there, but thankfully she was not seriously injured. She just had a lip tear that was easily repaired. She is so sweet and hilarious to watch play. She loves to bathe other cats and has been known to cuddle with Charlotte and Eli. When Oreo was younger they used to wrestle all of the time. Now she tries to wrestle with Charlotte or Eli, which ever is around!

Finally, I wanted to share the two other cats that were in our lives, but are no longer with us. Jasmine was a beauty and loved my mom. She was my mom's cat and loved people a lot more than she did other cats! She was the queen of the household and a year older than Oreo. She was a stray that lived around where my mom works, so my mom picked her up after seeing her a few times. She lived a happy and long life and even right before she died didn't act like she was sick at all. One morning she didn't come to eat her breakfast, and was hiding under a table, panting. We took her into the vet and found out her kidneys were failing ans she couldn't keep her temperature up. They said it was most likely from age, so we put her to sleep and buried her in our garden. She was the first cat I'd ever buried because usually we have our pets cremated. My dad never buried the other pets because the garden was ready, so it was an important experience for me to have.

And then, Rosie was in my life for only a few days. But my friend, Karen and I loved her and cared for her until we had to put her to sleep. She was a stray that hung out around Karen's house and her tail was run over by a car. We took her to the vet after caring for her over the weekend and when the vet felt her stomach, he said there was a huge mass that was preventing her from pooping. We got an x-ray just to be sure, and there it was along with her being blocked up because of it. It was her time, but even while we were at the vet she was purring! She was so loving and she left a mark on our hearts.

So, that's our brood. Now a little about us! I'm a certified nursing assistant and I'm going to nursing school in the next two years. My name is Lizz. My fiance, Brennan is studying English and Urban Planning and is a musician. My family has been rescuing cats and dogs for decades and Brennan and I are just continuing that tradition! Lol! Just not as much as my family has in the past! Thanks for all of the help some of you have already given us in this forum and I hope you enjoyed this introduction! Thanks for "listening!"
