Haha. Your Dood is silly... your hair?! I know Ella goes nuts by smelling her own fur after we brush her.. Its weird.. She acts like she doesn't know what she smells like
I have plenty of phone calls to make this morning. I will be calling vet # 2 and asking them to get a hold of the x-rays to take a look. We are currently up now getting ready to see if this little bubble is gone. We'll be going back to vet #1 to get it done. Dr. L will not be their, Dr. S will be their whom we've never met. Then they will send the x-rays off to the darn lab and we'll get a phone call tomorrow.

I was surprised that vet #2 gave her an enema because she went based on her colon. She didn't even look at the x-rays.

We are grateful for the enema procedure. She seems to be doing well this morning but we still notice her being dehydrated. hmmm. darn cat drink some water!! lol.

If she is dehydrated, ask the vet today to give her subq fluids. It's fast and inexpensive but should help her feel better faster.

I'm not surprised, because as a couple of us mentioned earlier, usually they can FEEL constipation and there is no  need for xrays.  What I am now extremely confused about is, in your first post you already had the results of the xray and you were told the issue was constipation.  Now you get a phone call saying "complete blockage"?  How can that be if you had already seen the results of the xray?  Did you happen to call the 2nd Vet back and tell them what the first Vet said and get their opinion of that?  I would, if it's not too late (if you haven't already gone back to the 1st Vet yet.

How did Ella do last night?  Did she keep her food down? If so, I'm thinking that's a very good sign.  Has she pooped any more since her enema?

She did well last night. She did not vomit anything....

It has been a VERY long day. Many emotions were involved. Vet #2 did an x-ray of Ella as well and they seen this "blockage". (which we didnt find out until today)

See, this morning we take Ella in for her x-ray. We were the 2nd one in line. I get my receipt and see the charge for the x-ray but I also got charged for a hospitalization. Which we didnt understand why she needed to be hospitalized if she was just getting an x-ray???

We left Ella their and called vet #2 and I told her everything that was going on. Vet #2 said not to do anything and she will call vet #1. Not to even pick up Ella, just wait for her phone call... We sat in the cold for about 20 minutes and then I said lets just drive home.. We get half way...more than half way home and we get a friggen ticket!.. great... after we are done with the police officer we get a call from vet #2 saying we can pick up some x-rays that they have done and the blood work that was done when ella got the enema. (this was our first time hearing about the x-ray from vet #2...She never charged us for it) I'm in tears at this point because she has seen the exact same blockage that vet #1 has seen. before I left vet #2 I asked about the pricing on putting ella down. I returned back to the car and told my husband. At this point we've made up our minds that we are going to put Ella down. The Dr. at vet #2 said that the surgery is not promised either...

We pick up Ella and I tell the receptionist at vet #1 that I'd like to pick up my cat and that I was going to put her down.. She looked at me like "I cant believe that you are going to do that" Then she asked me what date would I like and would I like to be back their when it's going on...(money hungry can you tell?) I told her I was not going to contribute to this vet anymore & that I've found a cheaper deal!

So any who this thing inside her is shaped like those neon ear buds you can buy at the store if you are having trouble sleeping or your going on a plane... No what i'm talking about?

We had to drop off the x-rays that vet #2 gave us to give vet #1 and we mentioned that we wanted to put ella down..

We said our goodbyes and I bawled my eyes out and still currently doing so.

Ella did have this Complete Bowel Obstruction

We are ok with the decision that we have made. We rather had her put down then mope around the house all week until she passed over. We will be picking up her remains on Friday (we had her cremated) My husband is taking it pretty hard as well.

My sick girl =[ I miss her. I uploaded this photo of her so you all can see how ill she was looking. We also found something they we think she had been chewing on while we were sleeping... I feel like an idiot now cause I told the Dr. that Ella wasn't that kind of cat. lol

That their folks is an air pump for bike tires! We believe that this is what caused Ella to get constipated.

Oh no, I was so hoping things would pull through for you guys.
I can't say much that will help, but I do think that if both you and your husband thought it was the right decision - it was. When cats want to eat things, they find things to eat. Virtual hugs and healing thoughts to you all, RIP Ella

We are so sorry for the loss of your little girl. We will close this thread, but when you feel that you can do so, you are welcome to post a tribute to Ella in the Crossing the Bridge forum. RIP dear Ella.
