My cat Buddha has a history of urinary blockages but got the PU surgery after his fourth time blocking. That was a year ago. Since then he's had one UTI or cystitis. I read that it was good to add Cosequin to his wet food because it helps bladder inflammation. Does anyone use Cosequin for their cat for urinary issues? What dose do you use?

Also, his sister, Izzie is part Maine Coon. I know Maine Coons are known to get hip dysplasia when they get older, so should I start giving her Cosequin too? She's 6 years old and has shown no sign of arthritis or pain in joints yet.

My cat Duncan is now 15 years old and had that PU surgery when he was 3 years old due to repeat blockages. He used to get urinary infections about once per year for about the first 6-7 years or so. Then he just grew out of them. Since he was ~ 9 years old, he has had maybe one minor urinary infection and that is all. Just wanted to let you know that my cat did "grow" out of the urinary infections. I never heard of using Cosequin for this issue so cannot advise on that.
