Athena is a Torti Shelled Manx. I have had her since she was 5 weeks old. She is very beautiful in her markings and is a very smart cat. She is now 13 yrs old as of Oct. 1st. And yes the Vet gave me a birthday for her. Some pet owners never get that or even bother to ask. But I buy her something for her birthday every year. She really no longer enjoys catnip to the fullest. She will just pass out. We we just wanted to say hi :wavey: to everyone. First cat I have owned this love and I just :heart3: her to death.

Sad news to give. On 11/21/2016 I had to put Athena to sleep. She had Intestinal Lymphoma and the vet was just giving her Prednisone and B12 to try and make her live longer. Unfortunately her quality of life was not so good. The bad out weighed the good. She was getting sick every day and if not it was every other day. Even on the medicine.

She was 16 yrs old. And I believe that I gave her a great life. I did the very best for her till the end. I just couldn't cure cancer. But since this was my first baby I did have her privately cremated and a necklace to hold a pinch of the ashes. Which my Dr was kind enough to do for me. And it is super glued sealed with a screw. I got the necklace from Stardust Memorials. Great website with beautiful stuff.

Willow and I miss her terribly.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss.  I know this is a difficult time for you right now.  It's hard to get through the death of our fur  babies, but we do, and in time in the future, you will love one again.
.  Stardust Memorials does sell beautiful mementos, remembrances, etc. I bought my dog Missy's urn from there.  For me, it is comforting to have them with me.  She is never gone, but to each his/her own.

Again, so sorry...

Thank you very much. It does suck right now. But I know that she is gone but she will surely never be forgotten. I have her in the Cedar box she came in that has a lock on it and the the black velvet pouch folded just right and in front of it that says Until we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge. And I am wearing the necklace now. And you are right Stardust Memorials has a lot of stuff that is very nice and not just for pets.

I do still have my 1 yr old kitty here Willow that I love dearly. And she still roams around and looks for her. She isn't quite back to her normal self yet either. But the Vet said it could take at least 2 weeks for her to get back to normal. But I know we will make it even though we miss her like crazy. I just know she isn't in pain anymore.

But thanks again for your kind words they are greatly appreciated!
