I'm not a doctor, but I do have extremely sensitive skin and have read a great deal about skin and reactions to various things.

To me it sounds like contact dermatitis since it only occurs from a part of the boot.  It's likely that your foot is sweating (lots of sweat glands in feet), plus the tongue must be rubbing against the top of the foot.

Maybe try keeping your feet well moisturized.  I have a skin condition called "Dermatographism", which means "skin writing".  Basically if you take the back of a pen and draw a picture with it on my skin, I will develope a huge hive welt in the shape of whatever you drew.  My dermatologist told me that it's from extremely dry and sensitive skin and to keep my skin moisturized and then said something that surprised me.  He told me that the best moisturizer you can use on very dry skin is that very greasy Vaseline Petroleum Jelly!   He instructed me to shower and then while my skin is wet to slather on the Vaseline and rub it in. I was surprised at how my skin sucked up that grease!

**Try that on your feet, and try soft cotton socks which help to absorb the sweat and wicks it away from the skin.

**** obviously don't try to walk on a floor with greasy feet. Use slippers or put on socks after applying the Vaseline :)

Vaseline is best according to my dermatologist.  But give olive oil a try. Make sure you are applying it to wet skin. Also make sure you don't have any old dry skin. Soak your feet and use a loofah to remove the dead skin so that you aren't just moisturizing dead skin.

My hands do get red and rash-like when I use detergents or hand soaps.  I'm a nurse and have to clean my hands many times in a day.  Unless my hands are visibly dirty, I wash my hands when I get to work, or after using the bathroom, all the rest of the time at work I use hand sanitizer.

I'm going to put some oil on my ankle lower legs before I put my boots back on to see if it works

The dr gave me a skin cream for my skin issue but it stopped working for me

I googled your skin issue I don't have the skin writing the bumps up

I used olive oil etc before but it takes awhile to work

And hand sanitizer is worst for me I think it's because it contains rubbing alcohol in it one time a nurse rubbed rubbing alcohol on my arm to draw blood in that area got real dry and started to crack I told the nurse I'm real sensitive to rubbing alcohol but she didn't want to listin I know they have alternatives for people with rubbing alcohol sensitivity

I did find a all natural bar soap that does not bother me at all it smells real nice I also find aloe works for me on certain issues with my skin

I have this problem. My hands especially are very sensitive to soaps. I use Dove sensitive soap to wash, I can't use anything else. I can only do dishes with sunlight. My hands get dry and crack in the winter.

The best lotion I have found is George's. It's very greasy, but it works very good. George's light is much less greasy so I use that when I am out.

I use Johnson's baby lotion (the pink stuff) after my shower. I put it on while still wet.

I don't know if it would be the same thing but I often get a red rash around the top of leather walking boots in the summer - it is heat / sweat rash and the best thing I have found that works on it is Johnsons Nappy Rash Cream - it protects the skin from the sweat caused by the boots as well as moisturising the skin.

Coconut oil is an excellent moisturizer. Antibacterial, too. You can also take a spoonful internally every day and it will help. So will taking fish oil.

I have terrible dry skin in the winter. My fingers crack and bleed :(. It doesn't seem to be related to what kind of soap I use or anything like that. The only thing that helps is remembering to take my fish oil/coconut oil every day.

It might be a couple of things. It sounds like your skin is very sensitive, but I would also question what your boots are made of (or what they have been treated with). Fabrics and definitely plastics or vinyls have some pretty wicked chemicals in them. Socks might not be enough to keep the irritants off of your skin, especially if you are like most people and wear your boots all day and longer.

Have you looked if other people have had the same problem with your brand & model of boots? Do you have the same problem with other clothes or other shoes or is it just the one pair of boots?

I have to protect my hands, I wear thin cotton gloves inside of rubber (or latex) gloves for all the wet work I do, floors, dishes and cleaning (different gloves for each, of course). I have a pair of cheap undyed leather gloves (cheap = thick) that I got on sale somewhere; I ripped out the lining so they are just like a second, and tougher, skin. I use those for working with tools and gardening and since they were fashion gloves, are sized so they fit my hands really well. I just throw them in the wash and hang to drive, they have lasted for years.

Your body is definitely not liking something that is going on. Hope you work it out, skin problems are no fun.
