Hi guys,

I've noticed my cat has some black crusty bits coming out of his nostrils. I try to clear it but its very hard and sticks to his face and it hurts him when I try to take it off even if I try to soften it with water first. And every time I clear it away there's more the next day. I googled it and apparently its caused by a low-key respiratory infection or something and is more common in light coloured cats? Has anyone else's cat had problems like this? Should I take him to see a vet about it or do you think it might go away on its own?

This is very common.  Most likely it's just a runny nose from seasonal allergies.  As long as you don't see any active green or yellow discharge, I wouldn't worry about it.
