My girl has been pregnant for about 63 days or so (Not sure of the exact, it was a surprise). My worries are she seems to not be going towards labor signs at all. She has been making milk for a week, and I have been feeling the babies for a little more than two weeks, she has been showing signs of nesting but not much else. I have dealt with pregnant cats before, but don't remember to much except them losing the mucus plug, which I don't know if she has lost yet. I have another cat and a young dog, and was wondering will a female cat not go into labor because she feels unsafe? If so I need to know so I can arrange a better area for her, she is separated by a doggy gate but should they be out of the room completely? Any help would be appreciated, she has been checked by a vet and is healthy

Have you made some "nests" for her? A kennel, a box, a secluded corner. They will have them in very small spaces if you let them pick. If I were you, I would keep her in a room that is quiet and set up a couple "nests". She sounds very close.Unless she is new to your house, I doubt she is purposely with holding birth. The kittens are prob just not "cooked" yet. :)

Every cat is a bit different. Some will run around frantically looking for "a place" when they are in labour and others will do so quietly. If her behaviour changes all of a sudden..then be suspicious. Good Luck. :)

Thank you for the reassurance, she is my baby and I get very anxious. She has a few boxes, two have her favorite blankets in them (I don't mind washing them when they get messy) She has been very lovey today, lately she has been biting me if I look at her wrong, so this got me thinking something may be up. Will update when the big moment happens :)

This is Ashes, the first born and the one we are keeping :) she is a girl

Lillith, second born (She was born right after Ashes, before the placenta came out so I thought Ashes was mutated...)

This is Gauge, our only white female.

The one closest is Mr Torgue, he has a mouth on him (Named him after a video game character) he is just like the daddy

Gauge sitting on the runt Zero's head.

Mommy Angel sticking her tongue out to let me know she is ok

The runt, Zero, who was third born and the poor thing was pee'd on, so he looked yellow :(, he is very healthy and has a strong will to live, they are 5 days old now, and doing great :)

I have huge hands lol but he is small, the others had great weight he was slighty under, almost as though he was a day or so behind the others in growth. He has made up for it, and they are all gaining good weight now, had to get her kmr because her milk was getting low.

What made you think 'her milk was getting low'?  Most cats have plenty of milk, and it's a supply and demand thing as well.  The more the kittens suckle the more she produces.  The only way (in my view) to be absolutely sure the kittens are getting enough is to weigh them at about the same time each day.  I use a cheap set of kitchen scales and weigh in grams.  They should gain about 10g or more most days.  The odd wobble is common as is losing a little weigh in the day or two after birth.

I felt her teets and they felt like they really low in supply, but she is ok and so are they. They have been gaining good weight, they are very active, one will roll around the whole box until he is away from everyone else :)

How full her teats are will vary with when the kittens last fed.  The ONLY way (in my view) to know is to weigh them.

Update, all kittens are well, nice and healthy. They are opening eyes and getting playful now. They roll out of the box and gum my clothes with their toothless mouths. Have homes for all, and mommy is doing great!
