So 4 of the 5 kittens we had earlier this year have all gone to their homes and are happy as can be. Momma and only boy Dylan have been fixed and are staying with us (Sandy won us over and after a FeLV scare with her and the kittens and putting her through a couple vet appts, blood draw, and being spayed, we've decided to keep her)

Well Dylan is now a happy and healthy 13 week old rolly polly baby who is still nursing off momma a few times a day. He's fully capable of eating solids (and does all the time) and Sandy will let him. Sometimes only for a minute, sometimes for as long as he wants to. She is a good weight now and this doesn't seem to be hard on her nutritionally (when she was full time nursing all 5 she got pretty skinny since she had been malnurished when we found her to begin with) and when we had taken her and 3 of the babeis in for FeLV tests. even the vet thought it was weird they were still nursing.

She's gotten a couple scabs near her nipples from him suckling, but she seems happy to let him do it (then goes on to wash him then try to kick his guts out and chase him around the house
)

We're not trying to stop him from doing this, they'll figure that out on their own time, but does anybody else have experience with this and know how long this could last? We're just waiting until we have an 11 year old cat suckling off his 12 year old momma

But on a side note, all the kittens and momma turned up FeLV and FEV free (to the surprise of us and the vet since we got them tested because 2 of the babies turned out positive, but they were just false positives but it was just weird the two we sent home on the same day came back both as false positives), our one kitten from last year, Thunder, who DESPISES kittens is finally warming up to Dylan and chasing him and playing with him though Dylan will hiss at her occasionally because she's wacked him before.
