Ok so iv recently posted about my kitty. I finally took him to the vet where they gave him antibiotics but I have no money to do much of anything else. They suggested to hospitalize him but when they knew I was down to my last 40 bucks they said they couldnt help me further. The estimate bill was 378.34. Im 18 and can't aford this but yet I dont want my kityy to die becuz vets dont wanna assist me. Im asking for your guys help. 1 dollor 2 dollors 20 dollar's anything would make a big difference for my kityy.

Just a reminder from the Mod Team Regarding Pleas for money:

Cats are a huge responsibility. Anyone who thinks otherwise, should not have one in their life. They are dependent on us for everything from providing a place to eat, to also providing vet care.

Anyone who has cats knows that they can and do get ill. Your best defense is to plan for that to happen before it does, and store monies away in preparation.

If you read about a plight of an animal on the internet and your heart is drawn to help. Check out the story thoroughly. Google the vet's name or call Directory Assistance in the city and be sure this is a legitimate claim.

Do not blindly send money into a paypal account no matter how heart-wrenching the story. Instead reach out to the member and ask for the vet's name and phone number, and arrange to send the money there for the specific needs of the cat in question.

If that information cannot be provided- you have your answer. Report the post to a moderator so that it can be removed for not being on the level.

Have you set up a fundraiser?  You probably should do that on some site like giveforward.com or gofundme.com and tell the story about your little guy and what's wrong with him, how he needs help, etc.  Many people do that and they they (I guess) have links to it from Facebook and ask all their friends to link to it from Facebook, etc. so it really gets out there.  It also creates a place for people HERE to donate, if they see fit.

Here's an example of someone else who set up a fundraiser:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/266881/fundraiser-veterinary-assistance-for-my-maine-coon-poe

Good luck with your little man.  You should probably tell us his story here in this thread, as anyone reading here might not be familiar with it.  I know I'm not.

I STRONGLY encourage you to put more information on the fundraising page and to read it over carefully for grammatical errors, use correct capitalization, etc.

You should state exactly what the $400 will be used for (not just that the vet won't let you past the checkup), what the vet thinks may be wrong, and the name and a phone number of the vet if anyone wants to verify this (or in the alternative contact info for you for people to reach out for the name of the vet etc if they want to verify). I would also state that you did apply for care credit and were turned down, and that you do not have family to help you.  I'd also state what will be done with the money if you can't raise enough- will it go to your other kitty or into an emergency fund for him? Will you donate it?

Good luck to you and your kitty.

Well good, I see you've got yourself a donation site going now.  AND, better yet, you've even got a couple of donations!

I agree with Tulosai, though, that it would be good if you could clean up some of the typos, and even better if you would personalize it some, by showing his name (Flacko, I think?), how old he is, how much you love him, how much Clark loves him, etc.  Plus all the other suggestions Tulosai made.  You need sympathy from your readers, you need them to care deeply for your plight, and to understand how you have no other place to turn (no family, turned down for credit, etc)

Now, worst case scenario, you can probably take him to the Humane Society and turn him over to them for care.  He will no longer be your cat, but they may be able to treat him if he is treatable. Did you not get any of your kittens their kitten booster shots?  I'm guessing that's why they want to test for the "baddies".  When you adopted them, were they  not tested at that time, and given the appropriate boosters?  Did you not adopt them from a shelter or reputable cat adoption spot that would have taken care of their neutering, shots, etc.?  If so, he shouldn't need to be tested for certain things, and  you should already have the records for that, or could get copies.  That being said, he probably does still need at least a blood test to check for other things.

Well, I see you're really working on fixing up your site now!  Good job!  And those donations are starting to roll in

Now...have you checked with some other Vets in your area to see if any of them are willing to work with you on payment plans?  I checked the Internet and found Commonwealth Animal Hospital (you're in the Charlotte area, right?), and per their reviews, they are willing to work with people's budgets!

Also, you need to check out this link.  apparently the Humane Society helps out, and you don't necessarily have to surrender your pet.  Don't know if this is something new because of the economy, or what.  But it's worth checking into:  http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/resources/tips/trouble_affording_veterinary_care.html
