i am trying to transition my cat to canned wet cat food. He used to eat boiled chicken with soup always. And i give him some meaty raw chunks of chicken or beef to chew once day. So now when i am trying to change his food, he eats up all the canned food and leaves behind the chicken :/ as this is only the transition period, the amount of new food is very little which means hes getting very few calories in a day. Can someone please tell me what to do? Can i just give him the new food without mixing it in his old food?? Today was the first day only. He’s 6months old.

If he's leaving behind the chicken, why not feed him pate style wet food?

yes i did try that actually. but i dont know how that little musketeer still managed to gobble up all the chunks of cat food and the jelly! but this way some of the chicken went in to his tummy too. but the point being, it was equivalent to his usual full meal. so confused :/

With canned food, it's not as crucial to change gradually.  If he's eating the canned food and not having any negative side effects (diarrhea and vomiting) then I'd say you're doing okay.

The most important thing is that he eats a balanced diet with all the necessary nutrients. This could be the raw meat, but you will need to add the correct amount of organs, calcium and other nutrients for him to stay healthy ( we have a raw forum on here).

Or you could feed the canned diet. If the canned diet is supplemented it's fine if that's all he wants to eat.
