Newbie to site: Meet Jackson!

Jackson is a 16 year old male cat that I got from a friend when he was 9 years old. I originally got him as a mouser because at that time I considered myself a dog person. Since that time Jackson has really grown on me and I have finally crossed over to being a cat lover as well. Jackson was a stray and was found by my friend when he was a kitten. I'm so happy to have him in my life. At this point he is my only pet and he brings me lots of joy Thanks for having a site like this to come and share stories etc. Telling a non-cat lover a cat story is... Painful for them and painful for me

Haha.  I hear you....had I shared all the stories, photos and concerns about my cats with my friends instead of on this website, they'd have all blocked my phone number and email address by now.

Hi Myrt.  Jackson is a very handsome cat, and looks like he's got fabulous long legs (with big paws) !!!  I hope he's keeping fit and well in his senior years, and still enjoys a bit of mischief and play.  Look forward so seeing more posts.

I think all my friends and colleagues are breathing great sighs of relief now I've found this site!

Thanks! Long legs and giant paws. Always getting into things that he ought not! He likes to roam and meow about midnite. So I wear ear plugs at night

HI.   Your boy is a handsome one.  LOL'd at your comment about the cat stories.  I have a group of friends at work who are very indulgent with me and my stories, especially right now with the new little one, but otherwise, you're right....non cat peeps just don't get it as well.

  I remember that !  Oooh, did my old girls miaowl loud in their pensioner years...    They'd do it at night if they forgot how to get through to my room (they were both went blind) and I'd have to go get them to get the, to quiet down, and one of them would do it sometimes in the day if I went out - she miaowled so loud you could hear it down in the street even when my 1st floor apartment windows were closed.    Hate to think what the neightbours thought.  They were tabbies too :-)  A bit scruffier looking than Jackson thought!   

Loving the idea that Jackson still gets in to 'stuff' and likes to go for a walkabout at night - keeping the brain busy and mousing skills sharp(ish).   

I chose to get a very quiet cat when I lost the second of my old girls.  

He looks pretty content and happy!  Like you I was a dog person, but thru my girlfriend I got to like cats as well.  Now that I have my little buddy Tim I realized I also love cats as well.

Ooohhh, so Tim and Jackson are roomies, eh?  Sweet.  How is 16 year old Jackson doing with Tiny Tim?  

Nope Tim has the place and me all to himself!
