My 8 week old kitten has fleas

I got a kitten from one of my friends and I can't think of anything to get the fleas. I only seen like 1 or 2 on him so far. I have some flea shampoo but it is put up in storage so there is no telling where it is. And I have no flea comb on hand that is put up too. I do not have any dawn dish soap but I do have Ajax dish soap (not sure if it will kill them like dawn does I was told Dawn is the only dish soap that works on kittens). I have tried picking them off but he will not sit still long enough for me to get any off of him and I'm scared to hurt him. Someone please tell me asap what to do. 

Doing nothing isn't good for kitty.. What's stopping you going out and buying a new flea comb? They are cheap...   And it maybe worth talking to the vet - 8 weeks may be old enough for your kitty to be treated with medicine. Due to it's weight and age, I would go to the vet rather than do it yourself as you don't want to get the dose wrong.  Am not too sure about bathing such a young kitten?

I have no money I spent the last on it to get the things he needs and I have a bunch of stuff for him from my last cat i had like flea shampoo a comb de wormer and flea medicine but it's all in storage covered up by all the kids stuff someone stole my last cat i had i won't be able to make a vet trip til next week or i would have already treated him also thank you for the advice as soon as i can get to a vet i will def ask them if they have anything for him i just hope i don't have to wait til next week 

You could probably pick up a flea comb for about 1-2 dollars, probably cheaper if you go on ebay or some cheap store. Can you not squeeze a comb into your budget? At least then you could help kitty until you get to the vet. Does your vet give you advice on the phone, ie, ask them if 8 weeks is old enough for some flea medication, or if he is too young for a bath, at least then surely that would be free help? My vet is pretty good if I phone up. Other than that, perhaps go and look for your old stuff in storage. A pain in the bum yes, but you may be luck and find it quick! :-)
