HI..i was talking to someone on facebook who was following my posts and says her kitten is also having issues with her back legs but she thinks her hip is dislocated an is wondering if there is anything the vet will do for the kitten besides try to pt her down? the kitten is 8 weeks old..and seeing as how i was too dumb to take my own kitten in to the vet i have no idea..does anyone here know?

Without an assessment of the kitten itself, anything we say is a guess. The kitten should see a vet, and if finances are a problem then maybe check out care credit. There's also a sticky on here somewhere about what to do if you can't afford a vet.

A problem with a hip doesn't always mean euthanasia, BTW. But of course depending on what's wrong, it may be a possibility. I hope she isn't avoiding taking this kitten to a vet due to fear that the kitten may not have any other options than euthanasia...?

IF the hip is dislocated the vet can put it back in the socket. If it is broke, that is a different story, this would involve casting and possible surgery. The ONLY way you will know though is to see a vet! I'm sorry if it's going to cost a lot, they may want to call around first and ask prices, or even if the vet can tell you how to tell the difference between broke and dislocated. Check to see if there are any low cost vets around, via facebook, yellow pages, etc. Good luck!
