So, I've received a coupon for a free giant jawbreaker (Granted, with purchase of an ounce of candy). The thought of having one of these brought me back to my childhood where I had one of these jawbreakers and it'd last for MONTHS! Every night before bed, I'd lick some of it and tuck it back into a baggie in my drawer.

I am actually excited to get this giant jawbreaker!

Do you guys have a favorite candy that you used to have when you were younger? do they make them anymore?

Wow, haven't thought of jawbreakers since I was a kid! We had a little corner store we'd spend our allowance in and I too would buy those things. They were really JAW breakers! So big for our little mouths back then!

I loved candy cigarettes, doubt they make them anymore. I think they were made from the same recipe as the stick that came with Fun Dip. And they also emitted the super cool fake smoke :)

OMG! I loved Fun Dip when I was a kid! I was only allowed to go as far as being able to hear my mom's super loud, 2 finger whistle. The town store was definitely further so I would hustle on a bicycle as fast as I could there and back, sit by the river and enjoy my hard earned Fun Dip, and/or Bit O Honey..........love Bit O Honey, hard to find these days but they still make it

Fun Dip is the best! I have two boxes in the kitchen right now of individual packs that they made for Valentines day lol. I always stock up on it when I see it!

For Easter this year they made strawberry and watermelon, I loved the strawberry but wasn't a big fan of the watermelon.

Oh my gosh! We were at Cracker Barrel today and, of course, I took a minute or two to peruse their candy selection. For Christmas they have 1/2 pound Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. :jaw:

These suckers were the diameter of bread plates! I was so stunned I forgot to buy some, lol!

I love fun dip, but it is not fun when you get it in your eyes. When I was in elementary school, I was walking home and a girl from a different school randomly threw a handful of it in my face and it got in my eyes. It hurt like
and I didn't even know her.

I also like pop rocks.

"In the olden days..."

There was a man known as "Jess, the Bread Man" . He had a red panel delivery van and sold bread and other staples door to door. All you had to do was wait outside by the road and flag him down as he passed on his route. For us kiddos, we would save our pennies ( I told you it was in the olden days) and go crazy picking out our favorite penny candies from his compartmented tray in the front of the truck. Faves included candy cigarettes, tootsie rolls, KITS (4 piece of taffy like candy for a penny!), chick o sticks...

Does anyone remember the pink, green, yellow dots on a roll that you peeled off ? I loved those and I can still find them at the Dollar Tree store.

Candy sounds good. I don't eat chocolate bars much anymore but I will check out the retro candies. Thanks for that link.

Ooh, how do you choose just one type of sugary yumminess?   What comes to mind tonight is rhubarb rock.  It was a stick of hard but chewy rock with rhubarb flavour and coloured pink on the insde and a thin green colouring on the outside.

Think maybe the jawbreakers you guys are talking about are what I call gob stoppers?
