Well, my surgery is in a couple of hours and I am STARVING
and I am thirsty as heck…
I am also starting to get a little nervous. It probably didn't help that this morning on the Today Show they had a lady who woke up during surgery because the anesthesia didn't work. Eeeeeek! I could sure use some positive vibes today

Thanks all!!

Yikes, already??????? Is it just day surgery or will you be in there a few days?

You take care of yourself girl, and don't freak out!

Good thoughts coming from me to you!

Thanks Sue and Ady - Hey, Ady thanks for the tip, I just swished and that made a big difference. I feel dehydrated because all that I was allowed to take this morning was my Lexapro and Synthroid.

Kim, how are you doing with Lexapro? Tybalt was on it for 5 or 6 days earlier this month and couldn't stand it! But he doesn't tolerate any of the SSRI meds well anyway.

So far so good. I have only been on it for a week and they told me that a person feels the full benefits after 4 weeks. I have to say that today the Lexapro is making me nauseous because I haven't had a thing to eat. I feel over medicated at the moment

Now I'm curious, what were Tybalt's side effects?

He said it was like having a constant low buzzing sound in the back of his head, plus it made him feel completely detached from everything and the first day he was kind of loopy too
He felt better within 2 days of stopping it.

Hope so!! I need to talk with my MD about changing my medicines, I've been taking Zoloft for years now and it just isn't working anymore. Tried Effexor and thought I was going to die, it threw me into a full blown panic attack, which I had never had before!

My surgery is at 11:00 a.m. (EST) It's not laparascopic. The surgeon will make a one and a half inch incision on the side of my foot (on the joint of my big toe where it connects to the ball of my foot) then remove the bone fractures. Sounds so CREEPY!

OUCH! But just think, you will be able to say things like "Please bring me such-and-such" and "Could you get this for me" and "While you're up.." and NO ONE can give you grief for it!

I will have to stay off of my foot for a week or two. I will literally have to keep my foot elevated up for a week.... I guess I will have to prop myself up in front of the computer and post away, LOL!!

Having had surgery on a leg more than once my biggest piece of advice is eat the crackers. Post op you won't want those crackers, but eat them anyway, they'll help with any nausea you might feel.
