Hi everyone. I live on a farm and we have a bunch of barn cats. They are all pretty much pets, so not wild. Most of the kittens born get a URI. With some amoxicillin, eye ointment, a.d love they recover. The ones that have a hard time come inside and get spoiled rotten. We have two in with us now. I have been treating them for 2 weeks. Both have improved immensely, but they both look to be getting a blue haze or their eyes, and one of them has her ears curling backwards at the tips. Very cute, but I don't understand why. I'm worried about the eye sight. They both see, but I'm not sure how well. If anyone can help, that would be great.

Definitely time for a vet visit. They may need stronger eye medication than terramycin. The blue sounds like scar tissue on the eyes. My parents have one of our rescues and she had a severe herpes infection when we got her (1 wk old.) She has scarring on her left eye (the 3rd eyelid fused over her eyeball and there is scar tissue in between.) Her brother lost his eye to the infection (it never fully developed.)

Good luck to these kittens and thank you for caring for them. Keep us updated on their progress.

They have been into the vet several times, and again today, and they think it is scarring.  I do have another question, Has anybody ever seen the tips of a kittens ears turn backwards?
