hello All

After 2 and 1/2 months of trauma, stress, antibiotics and metacam and all the different tests I am hapy to say Princess seems to be fine.

I did not take her back after the antibiotics were done 3 weeks almost ago because she is eating, purring, no longer hiding, she is our own baby again

The Vet wanted to look at her mouth to ensure all was fine but we opted not too we looked and the extraction sites looked fine

it is 3 weeks ago since her last dose and she is eating more now and drinking well and sleeping with us and all the good stuff

We did not want to put her through stress to go to the vet again

So thank you all for your support and advice

One thing though her food preference has changed she still likes fancy feast but now just chicken, beef and flaked tuna

she also likes the special kitty duck( i try not to give her this)

She is not eating much kibble but seems to prefer the wet and she hates the wellness so a lot of money in the drain

Is there a similar wet food out there that I can give or is Fancy feast ok

So glad your girl is doing better and glad we were here to help you in your time of need.  Canned food is actually much better for kitties than dry, so it's okay for her not to eat the dry.  You can donate your unopened cans of food to a shelter or rescue group so your money isn't wasted.  Most will mix brands and serve it all together.  If you want to stick with grain free, Innova EVO is good.  If you don't mind some grains, I don't know what a good food would be.  I know that some of the FF is okay, but it's like kitty crack and hard to change kitties to something else if need be.

Yes, the Fancy Feast CLASSICS are grain free, all the other varieties of FF are high in carbs and have things like wheat gluten in them
.   But still,  overall, wet is better than kibble, IMHO.

What are you looking for in canned food?  Grain Free?  Low Carb?  High Protein?  High Fat?  Low to Medium Cost?  Of course, all the food in the world is only good if Princess will eat it
.

Here's a recent thread (one of hundreds) discussing canned food:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/265689/my-cats-wont-eat-the-best-canned-cat-foods  Maybe it'll help you out a little bit.

She really went through hell and so did we with her
