My cat was pouncing and playing with a toy outside my bedroom when all the sudden I heard her hiss loudly (I've never heard her hiss except the first day I got her). I walked out and she was laying there talking (no vocalizations out of the norm - she is very vocal) so I talked to her for a minute, picked her up, etc etc all seemed fine except then she began to limp.

She laid on the floor and I rubbed her leg from her hip down to her paw - and she didn't once flinch or cry at any point in my touching her. Right now she's taking it easy, I know it probably scared her that she hurt herself, but the limp (even though its only been about 25 minutes) is getting better. In fact its almost gone. I know cats are good at masking pain, but I dont know what to think considering shes jumping fine, eating, and not sensitive to any touch or rub.

If I wasnt concerned I wouldnt have posted on here - but, does anything think this is an injury she just "walked off"? I feel like a mom who's kid just got sick for the first time lol

I'd probably just keep an eye on her, and if the limping presents itself again, then take her in.  Doesn't sound like she broke anything, not if you were able to examine her entire leg.  Could it be she stepped on something and got it in her pad?  Maybe a slight cut?  Or even a bite from a...
scorpion?  (don't know where you live, but where we are, they're starting to come indoors now..one of mine got bitten on the nose...he hissed and pawed at his nose a couple of times, then was off doing his thing again shortly thereafter, but I suppose there could have been some numbness for awhile.)

Did she wince in pain when you touched her?  If not, I'd say it's just a play-related injury and to keep an eye on her.  If the limping persists or she doesn't want to move around, then I'd get her to the vet to have it checked out.
