hi, i'm hannah and i have two cats, a 17 year old white male named sassy, i got him when i was three and my favorite movie back then was homeward bound, hence the name sassy. my other cat is a four month old male tabby named oliver omally.They are both the love of my life and here i feel i can get the answers i need thanks so much for welcoming me into your cat family. god bless

How do they get on?

not good at all, at fist the little one was to young and my senior cat was afraid of him, but now every chance the little one gets he attacks the older one and tries to bite him in the neck. yesterday i had my senior cat in my room and the kitten in the living room, and when i opened my door, my kitten jumped up on my bed and attacked my senior biting his neck and of course my senior cat did the same i had to rip them apart. before they hurt one another, got a battle scar on my hand from that one. i just don't know what to do. i've tried everything, water bottle to a little switch and then vanilla, they still don't get along. i want to be clear on this i do not abuse my cats but i do have a switch from a tree and if they fight i tingle their side and the floor making more noise than hurting them to scare them. i love my babies. any way do have any idea about what i can do. also how to keep the little one away from my fish take and parakeet. thanks so much and god bless

ok how about keeping a door between them, till they get used to each other.my cat ignores my fish tank  when i see her do something that i dont want i use stern deep voice and say NO! seems to help but with a bird good luck

I'm sorry. I know it's hard and I'm sure that eventually they will get on. The little one is trying to be top cat. Very soon mind you.
I'm afraid using switch is abusing your cats. That just makes them scared and scared cats are not what you want. I feel for your old kitty.
