The place I go to charges $31 for a neutering! The other charge 250!

It is a non profit and it is ok, I guess.

Should I get him neutered there?

Will they kill him?

31 bucks seems pretty cheap.

There a group near me that charges $35 (neutering) and $45 (spaying).  This includes shots.  The vet who does the surgeries is top-notch and pretty experienced, as he usually does between 65 and75 cats a week.

Unless you have heard some negatives about this clinic, I'd say go for it!

Yeah I think I will. I saw one bad review out of 5 that said they hurt his dog with surgery but that is most likely a case of blaming the doctor for death.

I use a group called Project CatSnip, and it is like going to a specialist, because all they do is cat neuters and spays.  They have a mobile van and travel to all the outlying counties around the city.  They are associated with a clinic actually IN the city which has a sliding scale to make vet care affordable to everyone who needs it for the sake of the animals.Project CatSnip charges $30 for a neuter and $50 for a spay, and it is $10 extra for a rabies shot if your cat is over 3 months old and not yet vaccinated for rabies (required by law in this state) they add extra for any unforeseen complications that require more time, such as an undescended testicle in a male, or pregnancy or obesity in a female.  They are excellent and have a very good reputation.  Cost in no way represents quality.  In fact, the point of low cost spay and neuter clinics is to prevent unwanted litters and to save more animals from euthanasia, so most of the low-cost clinics are run by people dedicated to making the lives of animals better and not to lining their own pockets.  (If your vet charges $250 for a neuter, that's highway robbery!  At those prices, only the rich could afford to neuter and spay their animals.)

Tumbles' neuter was $45 and that included an overnight stay!  That was at our regular vet's office, too.  Our previous vet charges at least $250.
