Cornish pasties, which are savory rather than sweet and typical "pub food" in the UK.They make a great lunch.

It's cold enough for winter coats today. I left the house in a fleece jacket and regretted not putting on my down one.

Apple coffee cake. Brought one into work last week. When I got to work this morning, one of my co-workers walked in and asked me to bring another one in tomorrow. They really like that coffee cake. I need some brown sugar, but we're going for groceries tonight, so I can pick some up at the store.

I love Cornish pasties, Tricia....we make ours with beef and potatoes with some carrots, mushrooms, and onions added to the mix. Lots of basil. And then a beefy-red wine sauce to pour over. I don't think the original pasty had a wine sauce, but that's how we serve them.

It was 27 when I left for work this morning. Brrrrrrrrr

Black Forest cake. I fell in love with it all over again when I went to the Black Forest in Germany on one of our stops. The cuckoo clocks werr driving me a little crazy in the shop, but that cake made it all better! I wish I had a good recipe for it! I can get Kirschwasser.

Lemon Tart.  Wish I could say I created this but only had the pleasure of eating it!  One of my local supermarkets makes it.  It's fantastic.  Had it with Covey Run's Ice Wine.  Great match.

If you have a Wegman's near you try this.

Panadas ~ traditional savory pastry popular here in Mallorca. Delicious little pies, usually filled with pork, peas, and a touch of sobrasada. my favorite! :)

Krispy kreme burgers. Not tasty at all. If you're wondering, they're basically burgers that use krispy kreme doughnuts instead of bread. Not sure if that's better or worse than KFC's double down thing...

Huckleberry bear claws! If you ever go to the Polebridge Mercantile near Glacier NP, be sure to try one of their bearclaws. They are delicious.
As soon as I read "Huckleberry", I immediately thought about Glacier NP! Huckleberry all over that area
They even have Huckleberry flavored soft ice cream in the ice cream machine that's at the Mani Glacier visitors center. Only two flavors they have are vanilla and Huckleberry. Both are delicious and I'm afraid I've tested that ice cream more times than I should have... Did you know they actually have almost 20 different kinds of berries in the park? The bears love them all
In fact, the best way to see a bear, in season, is by looking for a berry patch. Once we learned that trick, we saw bears every day while in the park!

Chocolate eclairs.

How many people are like this while reading this thread?

Today was the first day back after term break, and poor Mogli was so upset when he saw I was getting ready to leave this morning. Have you ever seen a cat hangdog? DH didn't have to leave for work until 1 p.m., so it wasn't like our poor little cat was going to have to stay alone all day.

Apple Crisp Cheesecake - I may be attempting this for Thanksgiving, but I'm not happy with any recipes I've seen yet.

Yes, this thread is making me

Pig's Ears. I used to like them when I was a kid, but bet I haven't had them more than twice in the past thirty years, although I believe they're German (Schweine Ohren).

Mogli still isn't happy about our replacing the tablecloth in the kitchen with glass, because he doesn't know what to chew now. He's been averaging one roll of toilet paper or a box of tissues a day since we got the glass, but they're not as much fun to rip up. :lol3:

I am thinking every day of fruit cake. I can't decorate my Christmas tree without fruitcake and eggnog. Come on somebody with a gluten free recipe or I am going to be Christmas tree less.:lol3:

Do macaroni pies count?
Open case of traditional pie pastry filled with macaroni cheese then topped with extra cheese and baked in the oven. Seriously unhealthy pastry food.
I reserve them for really indulgent savoury days when it's cold.  They go best with a well known brand of tomato soup!  I may have to go and find one tomorrow now I've thought of them. The again, that sausage and bean melt sounded pretty tempting!

Strawberries and Cream Deconstructed Puffs.  I created this one day when we wanted dessert.  The inside was made from Devonshire cream with some extra ingredients added to thin it out a bit so it would spread on the pastry.
