My cat will be fine and playing .... then will throw up and howl ....been to 2 different vets a total of 7 times ....one said she might just need to be spayed and she was spayed then about 3 weeks later she did the same thing and we went another vet...they said she was constipated and gave her an enema. Every time after when we took her to vet they say constipation  or that they can't find anything had xrays and bloodwork and we have meds and changed food 4 times...nothing has helped, she will be sick about every 10 days and will be down and hiding for about 3 days.

This passed week she was doing great ....then she threw up started howling and a few hours later when she would try to walk she would fall over....after a few minutes she would get up and climb into bathtub to hide.....next day she was back to her energetic self.

The vets don;t know we don't know....please does anyone have any idea what is wrong with my cat????

I'm so sorry you and your kitty are going through this. I'm racking my brain, trying to think of anything that would cause that. I had a cat about ten years ago that threw up a lot. I kept taking him to the vet. They did some tests, but couldn't find the cause. I finally took him to another vet. They said it was his pancreas. He didn't howl or anything. I had another cat that started having problems walking. After a while she started falling down. The vet said she most likely had a brain tumor or brain cancer. When she got to the point that she couldn't control her bowels or bladder and had no quality of life, I had to make a decision. I hated it, but I didn't want her suffering. I've not had one that threw up and fell down at the same time. That's strange.
When you say the cat howls, is it before or after the vomiting? What does it throw up? Does it look like food? If so, has it been digested or does it look like it's just been ate? Sometimes one of my cats will make these weird noises right before he throws up a hair ball.

in answer...cat will howl before and then after it throws up is when it will act sick..and howl when it moves.....the throw up is mostly undigested food but not always.

Gosh, what a difficult set of symptoms. I can see how tough it's been and feel your anguish and not knowing how to help. I second the possibility of pancreatitis. It requires a special blood test (fPL) to diagnose. The howling before throwing indicates nausea/pain. The other possibility is IBD which is very difficult to diagnose, even with a biopsy. I would definitely discuss these two possibilities with your vet.

As for the falling over, I don't know how it would be related, unless it's a general weakness or dizziness from the vomiting. It may be an unrelated symptom as well. :(

Have any of the foods you've tried been canned foods? If you haven't tried it yet, I'd recommend giving her canned food only and see if that helps. Throwing up now and then seems to be a "normal" thing for cats who eat kibble, and some cats feel extra sick when they throw up. Canned food is healthier anyway so it can't hurt to try.

I'm sorry she was sick again. I agree with Willowy. I think all cats get sick every now and then. I have to buy special dry food for my 14 year old. If he eats what I buy for the other cats, he will throw up two or three times a day. I buy him dry food for sensitive stomachs. Since he's bee eating that he only throws up every now and then.
