So my cat gave birth a little over a week ago and I've run into a problem. She has 3 babies, and I kept one from her previous litter. ( she's about 5-6 months old. ) I noticed she's running low on milk, and I think it's because of her older kitten. She's pretty well the size of the mother, but still young, and I caught her nursing a few times. I've stopped her every time. She's grown and does not need milk! My question, is what could I feed the mother to help boost her milk production? I read that feeding queens kitten food and mixing in certain meat helps a lot. Any other suggestions?

It depends partly on what you had given her earlier.  If it was kitten food and or wet food of good quality, than it is OK...

Extra calcium is never wrong.  It is not necessary if the mom gets full worthly kitten/mom food, but if you want to give extra - you can.

so, plain full fat youghurt (turkish youghurt is good), or goat milk, are both good.  add egg yolk if  salomonella in eggs is no problems at your place.

cheese if she like it...

I take it you dont know if she manages cow milk? come cats do manage.  If so, you can give her full fat cow milk to drink, besided water.

but if you dont know, dont experiment, play it safe with advices above.

Otherwise, you can always give  kmr as extra.    perhaps one based on goat milk if you can find such a one.

good luck!
