I'm Laila and I'm a 26 year old engineer that moved to Tucson 3 years ago from Michigan. My wonderful fur family moved with me which includes 2 precious cats. Both of which were abandoned.
Maizee, who is now 6 was dropped off by someone in the woods behind my house (this was very common in our area for people to do when they just didn't want their cats anymore - absolutely heartbreaking). I would see her hanging out underneath our rabbit cage eating scraps of food that had fallen onto the ground. I spent 2 weeks sitting outside and slowly getting her to trust me enough to come close to me so I could feed her and bring her in, and now she's a vibrant and healthy little girl!
I also have an older female cat who was lovingly named 'Gray Cat' (although she is actually brown) by my youngest niece. She is 11 and just as playful and spry as the day I took her in. She was a rescue. Was born into an abusive home, she wasn't fed or cared for. Luckily she was found in time and I was able to take her in!
Both cats are loving and playful but definitely have minds of their own!! They make my house feel like a home and I love them for it!!!
I can't wait to explore this site and meet many other cat lovers like myself!
