Good news is 2 of these precious kitties have now been adopted.Only Panther is left.I don't know why I took such an interest in these 3 kitties, but I really hope Panther gets the home he deserves.

I don't even know why I look at petfinder,but I just can't help it.

There was post from the Ohio County Animal Shelter that if they don't find homes for some kitties ASAP,they will have to be put down.

Buttons is a large 5 y.o. tuxedo kitty with all 4 paws declawed.**UPDATE** Adopted.

Timmy is a 5 y.o. tuxedo kitty also.He is front declawed.**UPDATE** Adopted

Panther is a beautiful black kitty. He is front declawed.**Still needs a home**

If anyone can help any of these babies, please do so.

I'm gonna have to quit looking on petfinder.I just make myself sick.

There's no place like home
The scary thing is that most shelter cats that are PTS don't even make Petfinder. We emptied out that majority of cats at a local animal control site recently and couldn't place a couple of the adult cats who were promptly PTS. The line for unwanted pets is so long and never-ending.......sigh.

I know.I just makes me sick to even think about it.

When I know someone that has an unfixed animal I will nag them to death until they finally get it done.I fussed at one of my friends for a couple of years about getting her cat spayed and she finally got it done.I really think she got tired of me bi#ching at her.

Poor Timmy.I went back to the site to see if he had been adopted and they have a thing up that says he has not been eating because he is very depressed from being in the cage.He used to travel with his previous owners.

When I click on buttons' link it still comes up,but when I go straight through petfinder he is no longer on there. It was posted that they were all safe till the 21st so hopefully this means he got adopted.

Panther is still there also.

IA. If you need me, just meow..
If Timmy is well traveled, then why is he there? Didn't his owners want him anymore? GRRRR that makes me mad, poor babies!!
I wish I had the space for those three. I'd take them in a minute! I don't even have the space for one let alone three more and honey says "NO more cats, we have enough!!"(not my opinion though. I swear given the chance,I'd save every cat from being homeless!)

Yeah that's exactly what I was wondering.

I feel the same way.I would save them all if I could.I swear I would probably take the 2 that are left if I were closer.

I'm just gonna have to quit looking on petfinder cause I know I don't need anymore kitties(already have 12),but I just keep finding my way back to that site.

I know,it is just all so sad.Sickening,really.

I wish I could help you with the grant thing to get all of them cameras, but I have no clue about it either.

Ok I have a question. I am really new to this whole computer thing. If I wanted to adopt a cat like timmy from pet finder how would I do it? I dont think my husband would let me have any more animals right now, but I feel so sorry for that poor kitty. The shelter is in ohio, I live in indiana, how does it work? Do you drive to the shelter? Is there a cost involved in adopting them?

ok i figured out the cost part, and that the shelter is 5 hours from my house. I really dont think I would be allowed to adopt panther, even though i think he is great! I am going to ask my husband about it when he gets home.

Well,If you wanted to adopt a pet from say this particular shelter, you could drive there and pick it up.If it's too far of a drive there are a lot of people out there that may be willing to help transport.

It appears that they only charge $3 to adopt out a cat.Not much at all.He is front declawed and neutered.
Here is a link with all of this shelter's information on it.
It also tells the driving time from some places in Indiana.

http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/ohiocounty.html

Panther(the solid black kitty)is the only one of the 3 that hasn't found a home.
If you aren't able to adopt, maybe someone you know would like to have this beautiful cat in their home.

I think the SPCA here where i live have finally gone "no kill" after years of public pressure. They certainly were for awhile anyway. They have a huge foster program where they place cats & dogs in volunteer homes until they can find permanent ones (although many times the foster parents fall in love & keep the pet) If it wasn't for such great volunteers this wouldn't be possible. There are also programs at correctional facilities where they have cat shelters and dog training programs funded by the SPCA where the inmates care and train the critters, win win for everyone.

I just talked to my Mike (my husband) about adopting Panther. He really liked him to, but doesnt think its a good time to bring a new cat into the house with Minnie about to have the kittens. I guess he is right, even though I hosted thoughts of going and getting Panther without telling him!
I dont want to stress Minnie, she is so funny about things anyways. I really hope he finds a good home! please let me know if he gets adopted.

I talked to one of the workers there on the internet yesterday and she said they weren't going to adopt him out until after Halloween. She also said that she had become quite attached to him and that if he didn't get adopted that he still was in no danger of being PTS.So I guess she will take him and keep him or at least get him out and try to adopt him out herself. So that makes me feel better.I thought I was gonna have to make a 4 1/2 hour drive to go get him myself.

Thanks for talking to your hubby about him though.
