I'm just wondering if any of you have tear duct plugs? I have a cpap machine for my sleep apnea but only used it for a night or so before giving up because my right lower tear duct whistles and leaks air into my eyelid at night. It was super annoying and more so irritating to my eye since air would bubble under my lid and dry my eye out really fast. I've seen that people can get little plugs put into their tear ducts to stop air leakage but it freaks me out thinking of having someone so close to my eye.

When we were visiting family two weeks ago, they asked me to make my tear duct whistle right after I had just had a margarita. . . I shot tequila out of it and onto my glasses which was super hilarious for everyone else, I however don't enjoy my usless talent like they do as it is preventing the use of my cpap.

If any of you have or had plugs in your tear ducts I'd love to hear about how it feels or felt when getting them put in, it sounds painful though.

I've never heard of tear duct plugs.   Where did you get your sleep study done?  Where did you get your CPAP machine from?

Call either place, plus your doctor, and tell them the problem you are having, and ask them for advice on what to do.

I have plugs.  They are no big deal, and the doc numbs the eye with an eyedrop first, so it's painless to place them.

If your cpap is causing those problems, you could always try a different mask.  There are dozens on the market and it might be less expensive than getting plugs.

Thank you to both of you!

I tried different masks and found that the problem is just me lol. Even if I sneeze air or liquid leaks from that duct! I'm going to talk to a gp about referring me to someone who can put them in and just get it over with. I've had my cpap for a few years now so I've put it off for to long, I should probably get another sleep study done as well since I've dropped a decent amount of weight since I got the machine.
