I found kittens in my shed.one day I was fallowing my kitty named mama she was leading me to the shed.once I was in there she jumped on a big shelf we have up in the shed so I got a latter and a flash light and then I saw mama jump into a box of Christmas tree parts.then I herd mewing and it was two cute kittens.one is black with a white pach on its back and the other one is black with some strips.i don't know what to do whith them cause I take in a lot of stray cats so I have a lot of kitty's.but I want to keep them what to do.and I don't think it's safe for them in that box.

If you don't spay all the female cats, there are going to be lots of kittens :dk:. An average of 2 litters a year from each female. So you'll need to make plans for either spaying or a ton of kittens.

If the mama cat will come inside, make a nice cozy box for her and the babies, gently put the babies in it, and she should follow you wherever you bring the box. Make sure the mama cat gets lots of good food, canned food if possible, because she needs to moisture to make a lot of milk. She will take care of them until they get teeth, and then you'll have to start feeding them soft food and provide a shallow litterbox. If you don't keep them, don't give them away until they're at least 8 weeks old, 10 or 12 weeks would be better.

Cats can get pregnant again right away after having kittens. But, going into winter she probably won't get pregnant again until January (unless you live in a tropical country). So if you don't have her spayed before then she'll have another litter, and another one soon after that. If either kitten is female she'll also get pregnant in the spring. It's more expensive to raise kittens than to have a cat spayed. Have you looked up low-cost spay programs in your area? www.spayusa.org has listings of clinics (if you live in the US), and if you call them they may know of a voucher program in the area if there are no actual clinics.

Like I said, give spayusa a call; they may have vouchers to be used at any vet. The cat population can get out of hand very quickly if cats are left unspayed (just imagine if the August kittens had survived---the females would be getting pregnant very soon, and if each of them had 6 kittens. . .), so it's something you want to take care of soon, especially because it doesn't get very cold in Texas so she might get pregnant again sooner than January.
