Hello there!

It's been a while since I have been around. My cat, Nala now gets along with the dogs great and she is almost seven months give or take a week (maybe two
).

Our concern is that we give her wet food whenever she cries for it, and that can be anytime (4 am, at lunch, dinner, before bed, whenever!)

She also has dry food available to her all day long. However, the vet thinks she is having an allergy to her food. We need to get her on a schedule first, so that we can see how much she is eating and that would help us transition her.

My big thing is, we aren't sure ounce-wise how much she should actually be consuming. I know it usually says on the bag, and ours says about 6 oz., but she also eats about 2.5 ounces in wet food.

Anyway, could some one offer some insight as to around how much is  a normal amount?

Thank you so much!

At seven months she may still be growing so that's kind of a trial and error thing.  She should be on set meals now rather than crying for her wet meals.  She has you well trained now.  I would try feeding her 3 meals of wet per day and cutting back on the dry.  Ideally it would be best if she were on an all wet diet.  Most adult cats do well on 1 six ounce can of wet split across their meals throughout the day but she may need a little more because she is still growing.  Is she doing well eating her wet food?

The feeding directions on cat food are usually a little high at least for adult cats.

When Tumbles was that age, we fed him 4 wet meals a day and dry food in between.  We fed him at 6:30AM, Noon, 6:30PM, and then around 10PM.  He probably ate dry food two or three times between each feeding.  Ideally, you feed 1/2 oz to 1 oz of canned food per pound of your kitty's weight.  At this age, though, I'd just feed him what he wants because he's growing and needs all the nutrition he can get.  His metabolism will start slowing down in the next 6 mos or so, but for now, it's still high, so you really can't overfeed him.
