I'm trying to pick a new dry formula, right now it'll make up about 1/4 of his diet with grain-free wet the rest of the time (1.5 oz wet in morning, 1/8 c. dry during day, 3 oz wet at night). Right now I'm deciding between Taste of the Wild Rocky Mountain, Wysong Epigen Chicken Formula, 4 Health Grain Free blend and Natural Balance Green Pea and Chicken Formula. Any opinions? I like Wysong because it's affordable with 60% protein but the fact that it's both canine and feline is a little strange. I would also take suggestions for anything in these price ranges. I'd like to stay under $13 for 5 lbs.

I am not sure if these fall in your price range since it's been a while since I have shopped for any dry, but the best dry foods I know of are Wysong Epigen 90, Young Again Zero Carb and Ziwipeak.

Oh, and don't be thrown off by the feline/canine formula. Almost all foods that are okay for cats are fine for dogs as well (but not the other way usually). Cats have more narrow nutritional needs, but they are both carnivores. :)

My cats eat the Natural Balance Restricted Calorie dry food and they both love it. I was also feeding it to a stray that was visiting us and she gobbled it up like crazy.

I like the food because it has real food ingredients. The last food they were on was a vet prescribed food. It had Chicken by-product meal, tons of corn ingredients, chicken flavor, chicken fat... There was no chicken or fish or anything that wasn't a by-product or flavoring. Natural Balance contains stuff I would eat myself. If I don't want to eat by-product or fat, why would I want my cat to have it.
