My cat is a 8 month domestic long hair named Mylo.

Over the last couple weeks he has sparatically thrown up. It insnt happening every day but a couple times a week and the puke looks just like peices of his food. He hasent had any changes in food, Is still active, and his poop is normal.

Is this something that sounds serious? Is it normal?

Hello, What are you feeding him?

He could be having a sensitivity to certain proteins or grains. I always go with eliminating grains first to see if there is an improvement, if not, then try a unique protein suck as duck, rabbit, pork or venison (if he'll eat it). If he keeps down the unique protein, slowly reintroduce other proteins until you find the one he doesn't tolerate, then eliminate it from his diet.

If you start to notice any difference in his appetite, activity level, or elimination, then it's time to have him checked by a vet.

Is he regurgitating (throwing up pieces of whole food within 15 minutes after eating)?

Or is he vomiting partially digested food several hours after eating?

Okay. This could mean he is eating too fast or perhaps that he has a bit of an intolerance to what he is eating. A cat can develop an intolerance or allergy to any food at any point in their life, no matter how long they've been eating it.

Is it the wet or dry food? If it's just dry food, it could be that he just can't handle dry food anymore. Dry food is typically high in carbs (even if it is grain free) and much more difficult to digest. A lot of cats with throw up dry food immediately after eating it.
