I picked out 9 names. Wrote them on paper, cut them up, folded them up... threw them down in front of her and she picked out the same one THREE TIME IN A ROW!!!

What I was originally going to name her anyway!!!

Your original favourite!  She knew her name all the time!

      Naming party  at last. :-D

No she's not an October kitty. She's close to 12 weeks old now.
Lol and you might say we celebrate it. I'm 32 and the ol'man is almost 41... and we both dressed up and went out with the kids. Big Daddy was a soldier, I was a pilot, the stepson was Captain America, and Sweet Pea was a black n white kitty.
So where's the pilot? !   The kids are very cute, Big Daddy looks scary...

Thanks! Big Daddy is kinda handsome too if you could see his face. Lol. He's a cowboy in every sense of the word! Kinda has a Sam Elliot thing going on.
I am well inpressed,  he looks like the perfect movie cowboy!

Got a theme for your wedding yet?  I'm thinking you guys are going to have a great time:-D

Lol pilot is behind the camera. And big daddy is all bark and no bite. Especially with our daughter Scarlett. The only scary thing about him is his skills with firearms. He competes in long range precision shooting and CQB competitions and also teaches courses in both. He has MAD SKILLS!!! Not to mention looking damn good in his fatigues. Lol. (Sorry for the blurry parts. These pics are actually from a course he was running. There were military snipers and law enforcement undercover officers there being trained so identities had to be protected.)

As for a wedding theme, there really isn't one. It'll be down home country western. He's wearing jeans, vest, jacket, and boots. The wedding party (men & women) are wearing jeans, boots, and western shirts. Any decorations will be western/barbwire/horseshoes/horses/cowboy hats/boots. Basically all things we already have. I'll definitely post some pictures!

My choice of flowers for the wedding is thistles. Partly for my heritage and party because they were my deceased Grandfather's favorite flower. Its a small affair. 40-50 people. Home cooking. We're doing everything ourselves. Pretty much everything is already bought and it only cost around $1000. Lol. I'm a bit frugal. It will be nice and tasteful but inexpensive. My wedding dress was only $200.

Frugal, yeah, but I think doing things yourself will make for good memories. It sounds much more personal than a big commercialized wedding where you hire people to do everything for you. Just don't work too hard--remember to enjoy :)

The name Salem means "peace." You're probably at peace now that your kitty finally has a name!

She'll learn! Besides, since when were cats famous for coming when they were called? :)

Lol actually all three of the adult cats come the second they hear their names. Which is odd. Just about ever other cat I've had has pretty much always ignored me when I called them.

The cats are most likely responding to the sound of your voice, not the specific name that you are using. When my father (not a cat lover) visits, he calls to my kitten, "Stupid! Come here, Stupid," in a pleasant (but sarcastic!) voice. My kitten (not named Stupid) perks up his ears and comes running over to him, purring and rubbing against his leg.

She probably hasn't learned that when she comes, she gets treats and snuggles. Once she gets that, she'll start coming when you call her. A cat may not be as eager to please as a dog, but if she knows that doing something results in good things, she'll do it--she's not stupid, after all!

All attitude, she knows she's got you round her little paws and she's playing with you.  She will respond when she wants to!  Anyway, she's also probably figuring you change her name every few days so she'll be checking out if this one's going to stick or not before she twitches her ears and shows you her heart's all yours.

Hmmm. I associate that name with black cats for some reason.

To help her get to know her name, use it often when you are holding  or petting her.  It took my Katie several weeks, maybe even a few months to learn her name.  When I was holding her I would say "Katie Katie Katie" repeatedly.  The same when I was brushing her.  During other times I didn't use her name at all. Eventually she started to associate "Katie Katie Katie" with me holding or brushing her, and soon she started to come to me when I actually called her with her name.

Spencer learned his pretty quick, as did Abby.
