Sissy has most always had gobs of nasty brown and black stuff in her ears! I'm not sure if it's ear mites though because Hooite's ears are okay, wouldn't both cats have ear mites? I try to clean Sissy's ears as best I can and last year I bought some ear mite treatment from the pet store but they both hate it and won't let me near them with the stuff and the directions say to apply it like three times a day (yeah right!) How can I help Sissy's poor ears?

It could be ear mites, or it could be an infection... you'll need to consult a vet on that one.  With ear mites the cats tend to scratch and shake their heads, and there's often an odour.

Revolution will kill ear mites without having to go near the ear, if you want to use it to also manage fleas and worms.

There is no odor but she does scratch and shake her head from time to time. When I manage to get some of the crud out the don't seem to bother her as much.
