Hi everyone, we're pretty much new here and thought that it would be great to introduce ourselves.

That's Lily-Rose on the left and Joey-George on the right. My boyfriends niece and nephew named them.

We adopted Lily and Joey in January 2013 because their previous owner was going to take them to the local animal shelter - She was going through a bad divorce and wanted to leave the country I think. When we adopted them we were told that they had both been 'done', which they hadn't. So a couple of months later Lily gave birth to 4 little kittens, but only 2 of them made it through the night.

We called them Frodo and Clumsy.

We were really concerned about Clumsy (hence the name), because he refused to eat and struggled to open his eyes meaning he fell over a lot but as if it was a miracle Clumsy had his 1st meal AND opened his eyes on my 20th birthday with all of my family around... which made my day as I could finally stop worrying :-)

This is Frodo, he loved to splash around on a plate of water.

And this is Clumsy. You can obviously tell that Frodo had a better picture than Clumsy and this is because Clumsy wouldn't stay still long enough, he was very hyper and loved to climb everything, including his mum.

At 10 weeks old both Clumsy and Frodo went to their new home, luckily I convinced the family that wanted Clumsy to have Frodo too. I'd invited the family round 4 times in the space of 10 weeks to let them see the kittens as I wanted to make sure that they would really look after them. They jumped at every invitation even though they had to travel 15 miles to our flat each time, the family included 3 kids between the age of 8 and 20 so I knew they'd be brilliant.

Unfortunately after my landlord found out we had kittens we were told to leave our flat, which we refused to do until the kittens had gone to their new homes. We were almost sewed £6000 for doing this, but luckily their solicitor agreed that we had done the right thing for them.

And now I really need your help.

Me, Jamie, Lily and Joey are back at my parents house. We have the top floor to ourselves which luckily is bigger than our flat was, we have a hall way, 2 big bedrooms and the bathroom so the cats have a lot of space to run wild and I do occasionally take them out on a lead too.

With the 2nd bedroom we would like to make it into a fun room for our very spoilt cats because we feel bad that they are on their own when we are at work and when we're making dinner as we have to go downstairs and they stay upstairs... so can anyone recommend any toys and treats that your cats love? We don't have a lot of money but every penny that we can spare will be spent on this room for the cats so I'd really appreciate all the help you give me :-) We're moving into a 2 bedroom house in April so living here is only temporarily and the cats seem to love it as they get to play with my mums dog.

PS don't worry - Joey has been done and Lily is being done in a couple of weeks so no more accidental kittens.

Hi and welcome to TCS! There are so many great elements to your story. Thanks so much for adopting Lily and Joey. I'm sorry you were told that they were neutered already. I'm sure the accidental litter came as quite the surprise. It sounds like you did the best you possibly could for these kittens and got them adopted together no less into a great home. Terrific job!

As for making Lily and Joey's new space more cat friendly, shelves at different heights are a great option. Most cats love high places, and they're great for exercise too! Here are some DIY ideas in this thread to keep it affordable: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/204590/cat-shelves-a-great-idea

Hi, welcome to TCS!  It's lovely to meet you.  Thank you for sharing the adorable pictures.
My Daisy loves her cat tree.  We bought her a newer, taller model, but she is still happier with the old one.  We got it at a pet store, and didn't pay too much for it.  All my cats also love blankets.  They will knead and purr for a soft, fuzzy blanket.
