Hello everyone! I'm new to this site and just looking for some advice. My one year old cat Kali is very sick,we went to the vet today after me finding her barely breathing this morning. He said that she has a bacterial infection and put her on some antibiotics. I have quarantined her to a bedroom apon the vets request because I have a younger kitty, Henry. I've made the room very comfortable for her with bedding the litter box food and water dish. I even went as far as putting my humidifier in the room with her in hopes to help with congestion. The poor thing sounds like a quacking duck when she breaths. Is there anything else I should do for her? It's really hard to listen to her breathe, I feel so bad for her.... here is a picture of my pretty girl

You can try steaming her in the bathroom as many times a day as possible.  A warm mist vaporizer will probably work better than a humidifier, but the humidifier is better than nothing.  Get some canned food for her, too.  She probably won't want to eat because she can't smell the food, so warm it up in the microwave for a few seconds to enhance the aroma.  If she still won't eat it, you'll need to force feed her with a syringe.  Add warm water to the food and make it like a smoothie, such it up into a syringe (without the needle) and then slowly squirt it between her cheek and teeth.  She'll probably try to lick you away, but it's very important that she eat as her body needs nutrition to heal itself.  You can get a syringe from the vet, the pharmacy, or a feed store.  If you can't find one, you can use a medicine dropper for babies found in the baby section of the store.  It's not the best, but it's better than nothing.

Keeping her warm, comfortable, and hydrated are great things to do. I agree with trying her with wet food if she isn't already. Having warm mist or steam is great too! Hopefully with some extra love your girl will be fine in no time. When my girl was feeling icky I brought her into the bathroom with me for hot showers and baths and settled her in there for awhile afterwards so she could benefit from all the steam. Good luck :)
