i have a four month old male neutered tabby, he is very active eats constantly and plays and fights me. but every time he poops he cries out in pain, then when he is done he is fine, i mean it takes a minute or two to get back to normal. we have had him treated for parasites even though they did not find anything. and i was just wondering if something is wrong with him or what, im really concerned, thanks so much and god bless

I agree, he needs to see a vet.
And, what is the consistency of the stools?

What are you feeding?  Wet, dry, combination?  I have a male cat who would "announce" his intentions in the box when he was a kitten. Maybe that's all your little guy is doing, but a vet check is always a good thing.

i have sent him to a vet and he said as long as he is not crying when he is peeing he is fine, but i still don't feel fine, when i hear my little baby boy crying in pain. i have no idea what to do. (sorry it took me forever to get back, i had a giant calculus test to study for and then a fall festival at my church, i was in the dunk tank all day, and it just slipped my mind this weekend)

i feed him kitten food in the morning and hard food all day long, the vet said that may be what he doing, but then last night he whimpered and i heard him peeing, i really want to take him to the vet but i have no money and it pains me to hear him cry. the vet said he was slow in developing in mental and physical ways too, i was also wondering if that could be it, his intestines are forming or growing and it causes him pains. i don't know, I'm just a worry wort

Are you in the vicinity of the box when he's using it?  He may want you to be with him.  I would try to increase his wet food consumption and add a bit of water to it to help soften up his stools.  Also, you could add a bit of plain canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie spice) or plain squash baby food to his wet food to help soften his stools.  I'd give him about 1/4t or 1/2t a day.  Try to divide it up into 2 servings if possible.

in the  meantime stop giving him kibbles trust me my Princess also had a few problems with pooing when she was on mostly kibbles and then it also caused any hairs that she licked to stick as she could not poo very well so he can also get a blockage

Give him soft for a few days , lots of water and maybe a small dose of laxatone to help(this will soften the stool do not give too often please)

treat it now or else when he is able to poo soft he still will be afraid to and then the poo will dry out inside as all teh fluid is re absorbed in a feline stomach

i have checked the stool, ( that was the first thing i did when he started crying) it does not matter whether it is hard or soft or diarrhea he still cries. the vet said that he may just be vocalizing that he is pooping and not to worry until he starts crying when he pees and he did that once two days ago. and i can't afford to take him right now, i have no job I'm a full time college student and my parents who are helping just got a new doctor bill from my moms surgery. I'm mean he is fine after ward like nothing happened but that cry will bring tears to your eyes I'm wondering if he could be deformed inside form his mother being too young and underfed. he is still slow in development, because he was the runt of the litter and the vet said he was mental and physically slow. his vocal cords has not completely finished forming or something cause it takes him a while to start and stop meowing. i just wish i could help more. thanks for all the help so far

he eats soft kitten food in the morning then kibbles all day long and sometime my senior cat's food left over if we forgot to pick the bowl up in time. and he constantly drinks water, he will literally try to take the water out of your cup and drink it. that scares me really him fighting for water like he hasn't drunk any in days. i have to refill the bowl constantly and get a new cup for me because he drunks all of his water and turns around jumps up on my table and then drinks mine, i even have a jar full of water with a lid that i pour into his bowl when he gets low on water. is that normal for him to be drinking that much?and he always licks his lips like that are dry

.Drinking that much water is a red flag to me, as it the constant lip licking. You need to find a vet that is a cat specialist. Yours doesn't seem to understand cats that well.  It could be that he is diabetic or similar.

Also, cut back on the kibble. That will cause a cat to drink more water. The soft food is usually about 75% water or so.

i had him checked for diabetes, he's fine. the vet said he should only eat kibble, but we do give him wet in the morning, and I'm wanting to take him to the hospital in petsmart bans field ? i think that is the name of it, they are very nice and has great reviews. with my current vet, when my senior cat became constipated because he has trouble with his intestines. well when we took him to the vet they try to take his temp and could not get it thru the but hole all the way, the vet then took it out, licked the thermometer and stuck it back in my cats but. it had no sleeve guard or anything on it. i almost puked right then and there. so yeah i have been considering taking them to another one. thanks for the info god bless

He sounds very uneducated about nutrition and hygiene. I think I'd be finding another vet.

I'm taking him to another the moment i get the money, but today he seemed fine, fight my clothes and hair trying to eat the last part. i feed him some boiled chicken last night and that seemed to help him a lot.
