There was this little orange kitten, about 12 weeks that is completely wild. It has been living under someone's shed from birth and it's really fast and well, wild. I noticed it was under the shed and didn't want it to die with winter coming, so I decided I would catch him and care for him. His sister, whom I've named Dragon, was caught at 3 weeks and is now healthy and loving. But she was easier to train! Lol, I know that comes with age, so I've come here for advice.
I started with the bathroom, I left him (I say him but idk what the sex is) in the bathroom for a good 2 days before I came to the realization that he did not want to move, so I moved him to my study (I live in a 2 bedroom apartment until my fiance is done with her schooling) and completely dismantled his box, he walked under my desk and just sat there in a corner, he likes to corner himself.... Now, I took off my glasses and attempted to let him take the scent, he swapped my glasses and I came to the conclusion it was time to bond, I lied down and started talking to him, very soothing and calm, removing any stress or fear from my voice, while slowly blinking my eyes. Once No Name started to return the slow blink I offered my glasses once more, he smelt them and then gave me the wide eye look. I reached in to pick him up and all he offered was a hiss, no aggression or biting like when I caught him (but that was to be expected after catching a feral cat) he lets me hold him correctly, belly and feet to the floor, only supporting his back and front legs with one hand, slowly petting him under his chin and cheek. He loves that, but is still frightened to death, when I set him down he takes refuge under things and in corners... I love the little cat, but I wish he was more like his sister.
I introduced them to each other my means of food, I placed 2 bowls in front of me while I was holding no name and had my fiance, who's name just so happens to be Cat lol, bring Dragon to her feeding bowl, and I let down No Name and he went to smell Dragons head, went down licked her bowl, then slowly started walking back. There was no growling, hissing, aggression at all. The do not fight each other but No Name won't let anyone approach her, even doing my methods.
Am I doing this right? Should I be doing something different? I need some help! I want to give these 2 kittens, one being 9 weeks the other around 12 weeks, the best life ever. My other feral cat I found at 4 days but I was only 4 and my parents cared for it, Oliver (that cat) is now 15 and still as active as a kitten. They don't know what I should do with No Name because he's scared and it breaks my heart!
