Bless your heart for taking the little one! I've always loved spending hours with a kitten cuddled up on my lap.....it made me so contented I think I could have almost purred myself. Whatever you name her, she'll be one lucky little girl to live in your home and be part of your family.

What a wonderful story!!! I like the name Jynx for a black kitty, but like others have said, whatever you name her I'm sure she will be warm and happy with you! Keep us posted :)

Sarah Jane went to the vet today; she's fine. She's actually 6 weeks old, not younger!

She has the usual ear mites, URI, fleas, eye infection. Good news: she cat eat normal cat food! No more 3AM feedings!!!!

Mommy's wallet not so good!  She needed meds, an enema, de-worming as well.

Sarah Jane is a lovely name. Glad to hear she is ok. Not so glad yo hear Mummy's wallet not so good. I too had a frightful vet bill this week!!! Oh but they are worth it. They deserve the care. You are a special cat Mommy:)

Glad that she isn't seriously sick and that she is now on the way to recovery.  And equally happy that you don't have to do 2 hour feedings!! What a relief.

After the antibiotics and some nutritious food and some TLC, she will be looking like a real beauty!  I love the name you picked!

You and your husband are diamonds!!. Congratulations.

I'm off to see the little munchkin!
Thank you!

She's is making a great recovery! I started her on canned cat food Wednesday, and feed her several times a day. She's just finishing can #2--and the regular-sized ones at that!

Her progress since yesterday:

1.  Had a visitor, who cuddled her for 4 hours straight!

2. Last night, ate like a horse.

3. Jumped off the counter before I could stop her, then walked around the kitchen.

4. Peed on the kitchen floor, LOL.

5.  Started cleaning herself.

6. I wondered if she is deaf, but last night, she turned her head and stared when I folded up pieces of tin foil.

7.  SHE FINALLY POOPED THIS MORNING!!!
 Everything looks normal.

8. Finally drank water, and even played with it a bit.

9. Just discovered the big cats' food dishes on the kitchen floor and dry food! (I wondered how long it would take her!)

10.Now knows the smell of her food when I open the can.

I was off today, so I spent the whole day napping and cuddling her (and caring for her needs). Tiring, but nice!

Oh she is such a precious baby! It sounds as though you have fallen for her BIG TIME too! As we all do! Enjoy! I love hearing the progress reports.

Thanks! She is adorable, and we are so in love with her.

Her new nickname is Roomba Kitty. For now, I feed her on the countertop in the kitchen. When she's done, she walks to the edge, which is my signal to put her on the floor to explore. I love to watch her walk--she reminds me of a robotic vacuum cleaner, hence her name!

Today, on one of her exploratory missions, she walked over to some scattered clean litter (thanks, Lucie!), and used it!  I didn't have the heart to pick her up and put her in her litter box. I wanted her to associate the smell with using it.

I posted a new pic of her in the photo section.

Well, our little girl is growing up!

Today marks 2 weeks since we got her, and what a change!  Missy cat got her hiss on yesterday, after 2 weeks of silence. She hissed at DH yesterday, when he bent down to pet her. She hissed and growled a bit at the other cats, and stood her ground--all 1 lb. of her! They are afraid of her! The only one she hasn't hissed at and who isn't afraid of her is Marge, of all cats. Marge gets along with no other cats, but has been hanging around with Sarah Jane. And SJ doesn't cuddle anymore; she's not into being picked up; she wants to play on the floor and explore. She now does this funny, little wildcat growl/meow/hiss thing!

She's so tough, I told DH to give her a Mob boss nickname: Tuxie The Claw. You don't mess with Tuxie The Claw...

I love to hear a little kitten hiss and spit. It's so funny to hear a hiss coming out of that tiny little body. Sounds like she's got some good catitude going on there! You did good, Barbara!

As for Marge not getting along with the other cats, but hanging around Sarah Jane, our Amber Louise was our Phantom Kitty, so-called because nobody ever saw her but us. She's still skittish, compared to the other kids, but from the time I brought Mollipop home, Amber has been a changed kitty. Add Tabby to the mix and then Muffin and....well, Amber is not the cat she used to be, that's for sure. She's out and about with us more and a lot of times, I'll see her fast asleep on the cat tree in the living room. When I get dressed in the morning, she's sitting on the bed next to me and I'm even able to pick her up....and she purrs! Loudly! This morning, I was sitting on the bed, putting socks on and Miss Amber was in my lap. Try putting socks on with a cat on you....it doesn't work well. And she wouldn't move. The best thing we ever did for that little girl was to bring the Three Meowsketeers into her house. It's truly amazing the change in her.
